MR-RMS 06-06-2008, 12:26 PM What are the classes?
Jonathan
gindlmi 06-06-2008, 04:35 PM should we be purchasing 17.5's for next season?
TBRC1 06-06-2008, 07:28 PM I was thinking of classes as follows 17.5 - 13.5 and for those who have not yet made the switch or don't plan on it yet good ole brushed stock. I would rather set the classes up by popular vote from the racers.
OH and if there's enough interest in them the losi sliders and or the losi late mods. I'm thinking (off the top of my head) that this class will be aimed more at the beginner and the cars kept basicaly out of box stock.
JH Racing 06-06-2008, 10:26 PM Saturday night short tracken I'm in is it October yet?
J-Dub Racing 06-07-2008, 12:57 AM I may be in for a Saturday night race. I am switching to LIPO now though, so not sure if there will be a place for me. I am sre you guys will get the presure to switch too! LOL. Hope to see you guys in the fall.
Thanks
Joel White
TBRC1 06-07-2008, 01:05 PM Well what's the big difference there ??? Besides the longer strong voltage ???
TBRC1 06-08-2008, 07:11 PM Just a BIG note guys.........This season is all about the racers. The more we have the better the season will be.
JH Racing 06-10-2008, 10:31 AM If you were to run Lipo there it would most likely be out of control 13.5 is probably on the edge.
TBRC1 06-10-2008, 07:52 PM 13.5 with 4600's was on the edge with the outside tires almost off the edge. But 17.5 with lipo's is an unknown. Heck for me 17.5 with any battery is an unknown.
JH Racing 06-10-2008, 08:09 PM 17.5 With 4600 cells would be the ideal class for Glenn Burnie.
gindlmi 06-10-2008, 08:40 PM by what everyone says about Lipo's, I dont think they are an option at GB, even with 21.5. I havnt seen the speeds that this combo produces, but 13.5 should be the fastest class at GB in my opinion.
MR-RMS 06-11-2008, 07:19 AM Lipo(7.4V) 17.5 would be 10.5 4cell speed.
Is GB going to allow Lipo's?
17.5 4cell would work I think lipo 21.5 maybe around the 13.5 4cell speed but I'm not sure about that one
Just my two cents
Jonathan
J-Dub Racing 06-11-2008, 09:59 AM On a big track 21.5 lipo is the same speed as 13.5 4 cell. I dont know if it would be as fast on the small track. You have to gear them so high I am not sure they would have time to wind out, but who knows. I haven't even played with the lipo yet, so I dont know. The only thing I do know is everything down here has or is going that direction.
Joel White
TBRC3 06-11-2008, 08:26 PM my opinion about is that going lipo will bee to fast for gb's short track
JH Racing 06-11-2008, 08:56 PM Look guys we have plenty time to sort this issue out, track testing is the only way to see. Can't wait for October and GB.
TBRC3 06-11-2008, 09:41 PM i ran a 10.5 4 cell on the track once and the speed there was way too fast
TBRC1 06-11-2008, 10:26 PM After what I saw in PA last winter ..........personaly I'm going to stay away from lipos as long as I can. They make a very nice fireball if something goes or is set wrong. Not good if you just happen to be spraying motor spray or something like that or are treating your tires for the next round.
pusher 06-12-2008, 09:23 AM If Lipo's are run at GB plan on buying a charging sack.......This is a new rule that has started with the increased popularity of Lipo's for our outdoor series. Sacks are available in the store.....One of the racers found them on the net much cheaper.......
TBRC1 06-12-2008, 10:13 PM Charging sack sounds good and safe to me. Nothing better than safe charging !
smoke 06-18-2008, 05:24 PM I think we can run 17.5 and brushed stock together and 13.5 and 19t together(all 4 cell give lipos another year to work out the kinks) and let the racers figure it out, as we all know lap times will dictate what people will run but this way we don't throw any one out based on equipment.
TBRC1 06-18-2008, 06:15 PM I like Smokes idea as far as the equipment thought. As for 17.5 mixed with stock and 19 mixed with 13.5 .......................Let's see how it works out. I have seen a 19 turn motor keep up very well with 13.5 if not BEAT THEM !!
As for me I'll have a 13.5 and a 17.5 car setup and ready to go.
smoke 06-24-2008, 08:19 AM nudge back to the top
TBRC3 06-24-2008, 04:20 PM Ok everyone the dave mease race is a charity race we have held every year for After the death of one of our good friends and fellow racers Tht money we collect for the race is donated to the American Diabetes Association Each year we always try to better the year before. So this year i have made up special raffle tickets for this event them more people we get to attend the more it will be we donate. I'm also going to have a few of us racer take the tickets and sell them around work and other places you dont need to attend the race to win. The price for the tickets will be 1 for $2.00 and 3 for $5.00. for those attending they will be sold there by me or one of the other tbrc guys.

Al Spina 07-10-2008, 08:46 PM I think the 17.5 motor with 4 cell 4600s would be perfect for GB. Last year there were a lot of racers with brushed motors. A lot of tracks put the 17.5 and stock brushed motors together. I think there are 2 levels that race at GB. Maybe run the 17.5 for regular racers and brushed for the less experienced. Lipo batteries have more than 6 cell power so I think the only motor possible would be the 21.5 and that might even be to much power for smaller tracks.
abdule 07-10-2008, 11:00 PM there you go again Al, thinking out loud..................:p
TBRC3 07-12-2008, 01:21 PM yes he is abdule but i agree with him . i think this season i will either stick with stock cause we all know i cant race worth crap anyhow lol or i will do 17.5. and about the 21.5 idea Al hmmmmmmmmmm i have a lipo maybe i will find out if they can set the track up and i can try it for the hell of it. there has been a few talking about wanting to run lipo
Mr.fastman 07-14-2008, 12:58 PM I'd like to see a 17.5 lipo pro class.
Doug P
MR-RMS 07-14-2008, 08:49 PM bring it on !!!
J-Dub Racing 07-14-2008, 10:17 PM That would be CRAZY fast. I am in... With someone else's car!!
Joel White
Alan Behler 07-14-2008, 10:24 PM i think you guys are high:freak:
TBRC3 07-15-2008, 11:21 PM alan i agree
TBRC1 07-16-2008, 06:21 PM Lipo and 17.5 .................................hhhhmmmmm sounds like 4 or 5 cars max through the whole day for safety sake. That is if the 17.5 on lipo power is as fast as it sounds it will be.
J-Dub Racing 07-17-2008, 10:08 AM 17.5 lipo is the same speed at 10.5 4-cell!!!:woohoo:
smoke 07-17-2008, 10:28 AM I'm in for brushed stock, It is cheaper for me to stay in brushed stock, I am comfortable with the equipment and the speed.
TBRC1 07-18-2008, 03:29 PM Smoke as long as we have racers that want to run brushed stock we will. There might be a mix of 17.5 BL and ole stock since it seems from reading these two can run together. As for me if I have enough batts and a extra pair of hands in the pits I can see 13.5 and stock/17.5 Bl.
Also at this time the 50/50 for the Mease race is almost 100$ and we have door prizes from just over a 1/2 dozen suppliers. That's right folks if you see me or Brian at a track and want to get those 50/50 tickets to help our funds going to the American Diabetes association, drop by our pits and let us know. We'll have them with us ..............................unless sold out.
Al Spina 07-18-2008, 04:33 PM Toby and Brian...... Nice job!!!!!
TBRC1 07-18-2008, 11:12 PM Thanks Al and here's hoping we see you there this season.
TBRC1 07-21-2008, 10:24 PM Guys after seeing lipo and 17.5 at the mushroom bowl......................I do believe it will be WAY to fast for Glen Burnie. So at this time I would say to hold onto those 4600's for the indoor season. After all last season the 13.5 with 4600's was fast enough and for the most part to fast.
TBRC3 07-21-2008, 10:30 PM aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh dude we wwill never be sold out of 50/50 i have pleanty to sell and i can get more
abdule 07-22-2008, 06:20 AM 17.5 was a big draw @ Marshall's, I think it will be @ G.B also.......... put don't mix in brushed
TBRC1 07-22-2008, 08:53 PM I would like to keep them seperate BUT if they need to be mixed...... what's the choice ?
smoke 07-22-2008, 10:17 PM i will spring for 17.5 if it seems like everyone wants that
abdule 07-23-2008, 03:44 PM smart move would be seperate................................
mannnn 07-27-2008, 09:37 PM i say add five pounds to the cars and let them rock cmon lol how is every body
TBRC3 07-27-2008, 10:12 PM well all i know is i plan on 4 cell brushed and 17.5 those are what i'm running now if i get a 3rd car and another brushless system maybe 13.5. Yas i'm crazy enough to run 3 classes lol.
i wanna run spec!!!!!!!! tbrc are you still at it?
