Maybe...
It's at Pin Shop Hobbies, 28 Main Street (Rt.73), Oakville, CT. Just North of Waterbury. They are having an open practice Sunday. Shop opens at 10am. Bring pit tables. Steve, one of the owners, put down new clay this week. Hopefully some guys can make it. I'm gonna try my ProCar & see how it goes. I'll let you guys know what the scoop is after Sunday.

I ran the track today. The existing material wasn't right for dirt oval. Didn't pack well (not enough clay in the mix). Steve has better material, just didn't get it laid down with the weather. The way the surface is right now, it's just like the old Xtreme (when JB owned it) A converted buggy with pin spikes/fuzzies will kick a purpose built-EDM's a$$. Long straights, flat corners. The surface was definately smooth enough to race on.

If the new clay is good, it will be a very good place to race. I think Steve plans to try it again next Sunday. Please spread the word & try to make it.

If you were able to run your dirt oval on sat. nights you could get 6 to 10 dirt oval mod regulars in a heartbeat.

Unfortunatly we tried to run oval 4 weeks and I have only had a handfull of guys show up. We even tried changing the clay and still nobody showed up so this leads me to believe that the oval will not work and we are changing it to an off-road track. Maybe next season I will try to build a separate oval but I would have to see alot more interest. Thanks to the people that did stop by the track.

Where did you advertise your first big oval race? Usually when a new oval track opens up they have a big race so all the guys know the track is there. check out master hobbies's, a huge success! I'm not saying this to be a smart ass I love dirt oval and I'm just trying to help . Have a big race, advertise it AND THEY WILL COME!

Well, Like I said right now the off-road is doing good and since the oval is incorporated into the off-road track it makes grooming and keeping it smooth very hard. I am working on another place to build just a dirt oval. If that happens I will advertise it more on all the forums. But before I spend the time and money on the track I would like to have some input from the guys that would be racing on it. If you would like to e-mail me suggestions on size , banking, the right clay or any thing else that would be helpful that would be great. The E-Mail address is pinshophobbies@sbcglobal.net Maybe we could get something going towards the end of this season or definatly next season.

Wow, Bonzai posts pics on 6/21 and it's done and over with on 6/23?

Some of us up here in the Albany area have been discussing your new track and eagerly waiting to see pictures of the new facility. We were interested in attending an entry form type of race if you held one. Obviously we would not be commuting there to race every week, but would certainly come down to a big race if we could.

Keep us posted on the progress of the next oval if and when you build it...
