A friend of my mine was at Easley this past weekend and ran in the 21.5/Lipo class. He said there were racer running GTB 4 cell with in both the 21.5 and the 17.5 classes without any problem.
I realize they will not have lipo cutoff, but will the 4 cell handle the current of the 7.2volt lipo battery?

From what I believe (From Novak) the is really no difference in the 4 cell and 6 cell GTB's except the 4 cell comes w/o the HEAT SINK and FAN...plus (what most people don't like) the small wires are affixed to the ESC instead of plugging in like the other versions do.
There's NO Lipo Cut-Off 4 cell versions, because you don't want the ESC shutting down at LIPO voltage if using it w/ a 4 cell.
Since OVAL racing doesn't use the HOT Motors (Like Off-road and Touring guys), a lot of the guys running the regular GTB's take the fans and heat sinks off anyway.

i ran my 4 cell with the 21.5 and lipo for about 2 months with no problems. i believe the gtb's are all the same they just don't want you to be running the 4 cell with 6 cells and a hot motor like they do in the touring cars. i'm sure there would be to much heat buildup. with the lipo and the 21.5 no heat at all on oval.
