Hello All!

I am building a 1/4 Dragster with a tube frame. This will be for exhibition (Exhibition RC? is he crazy? Why? ) :) and want to build the frame myself.

I have seen Brass and thick wall (.35?) Aluminum tubing. The prices for both have sky rocked in price so I am considering what ever is best and easiest to solder.

Which is stronger? I wanted your opinions from people that may have tried this.

Thanks!!!

brass is way easier to solder. I tried with Solder-it aluminum solder, but it didn't fare well for joints.

If you want to use aluminum ( probaly a substantial weight savings ) this may be of help: http://www.rcfaq.com/ANSWERS/ENGINES/solderalum.htm

Trail Ranger.

Did you use a soldering gun or torch?

Thanks Flash, I will check into it.

Also I am looking for a "cheap" gas motor for this 1/4 scale that will burn the tires off.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
