Here's a link to the Star Wars and Star Trek ornament page in the new 2008 Hallmark Dream Book. There are also Batman, Superman, Ironman and Wall-E ornaments on other pages.

Nice!

I wonder if Hallmark will be charging 40% more in Canada this year even though the dollar is on par? They did that last year and I haven't bought anything from them since.

I hope they stop the Great Canadian Rip Off program or I'll just keep walking /driving past their local stores.

Dave, I agree with you. Living in WNY, I drive up to Toronto and the Falls several times a year. The price difference on comics and magazines and lots of other stuff is way out of proportion. I would do the same as you, if I lived in Canada. The dollar has been even or close for a couple of years now. Why the publishers in the USA don't adjust is an issue that should be addresed. Higher prices on publications in Canada should be a thing of the past. Love the Canadian ballet! ;)

Marko - thanks for the support!

I don't want to hijack this thread but retailers at all levels are raping Canadian consumers. Even the Moebius Seaview is $35 more here. I'm getting mine from Cult. And if you think that's bad, think about us Canucks getting plundered on cars - they're still 30% + more costly up here. For an absolute mind-blowing shocker, go to WWW.honda.com (http://www.honda.com) to price an Accord EX. Then go to WWW.Honda.ca (http://www.Honda.ca) to see what they cost up here. The difference is about $6,000. And factor in that Honda prevents importing from the US by refusing to provide warranty here on cars from the US.

I'd love to buy those Hallmark ornaments. But based on what Hallmark and other retailers are doing to Canadians, I'd at least expect dinner first and a kiss after.

And don't forget plastic plants at Michaels. Seriously. I went in there this week to get a plastic fern for use with the Horizon 1:1 scale hatching T-rex and couldn't believe the difference between the US price and the Canadian (they leave both on so you can see how much you're being ripped off). You need those weekly or bi-weekly 40% off coupons just so you can pay the US price!

My local Hallmark has these out already.

I bought the Speed Racer Mach 5. It's about the size of a Hot Wheels car and made of plastic. Detail is very good. Wheels turn, but sadly no sound fx - which would have been nice.

I saw the Star Trek & Star Wars ornaments as well. In case anyone is wondering, the trouble with tribbles ornament works by having Kirk enclosed in a clear box. You push a little button and tribbles fall from above. They cycle by a trap door back towards the top. Kirk says something.

The Imperial Shuttle wings fold up as well.
