Anyone here raced any of the LL NASCAR trucks? I noticed Walthers has these for $11 and if I do another kids race these are the cars I think would be good. The Ford would need the mirrors and roll bar removed but the Chevy is ready to go now. How do they handle compaired to the cars?

We race the LifeLike Nastrucks! It's one of our favorite classes. There are at least eight classes we race when we get together and the trucks are always one of them. In 1994, when we heard there was going to be a truck series, we took the LifeLike Baja truck, took the roll bar out and cut the bed out, installed a flat cover on the bed, and painted a Havoline, Valvoline, and a few other big sponsors because, SURELY, there was going to be those kinds of sponsors in the new truck series. Well, we were surprised that GM Goodwrench was the only big sponsor from WC in the truck series. When lifelike did come out with the trucks, Dodge had decided to enter the truck series. So, I made my own Dodge out of a lifelike Chevy. I cut the top headlight out in each side in a straght line back to the windshield post. Then, I installed a folded piece of plastic and glued. I cut the plastice even with the body, sanded, and painted. I finally had a 43 Dodge to run in the trucks! We ran them at a local track in a series, mixed with the Tyco trucks. It went good the first few races, then the Tyco guys wanted to run without a windshield. So then, the Lifelike guys were cutting thier windshields out. Then went the back of the bed on the lifelikes. I left the series because it turned into a hackfest with more plastic chips flying than wood in woodshop class. You know, when you get home from racing, and it looks like you've been working in a factory, there's just too much cuttin goin on. But the trucks handle well, even stock. They don't handle like Indy cars, but they weren't meant to! I'll try to attach a pic of mine.

Yeah, I've since learned you have to be a member to see the pics there, but you can still see the main page with the slide shows of the cars and tracks.
