View Full Version : Highest + reading or +/- spread

I was just wondering if it would better to have a high reading positive side rotor (say 1300) with a negative side reading of say 1250 or a rotor that had a positive reading of 1240 and a negative reading of 1235? So is it more important to have a high positive number or a closer spread assuming the rotor is in the mid 1200's

In the past most only looked at the + number and now many are looking at both. Can anyone shed some light on this?

I have been told that a rotor with a large spread is not good. So a rotor that is 1250 and 1255 should run better than a 1300 and 1240.

my best novak rotor with over 2 hours of run time on it is a 1285+ 1272-

my speedpassion rotorwith about 30 minutes of run time on it is a 1685 + 1679 -

guess who makes a better stronger faster rotor? lol

There are 20 or so different grades of Neo magnet material. Obviouly Speed Passion uses a different grade. It is neither "better" or "worse", just different. Stronger does not automatically equal better or faster.

in the end don't we just have to figure out the rotors sweet spot? as it pertains to gearing?

Sounds like the Speed Passion rotor is a N50 neo.

Will the Speed Passion rotor fit in a Novak motor?

And yes gearing is everything..

i do not think the sp rotor will fit in the novak motor..the sp rotor has a rib on it for her pleasure.

I assume we are using 12.3 rotors numbers what about 13mm rotor numbers? I am getting 1350 to 1365 on all of my 13's.

you might want to try those on a different meter. if those are true numbers than your sitting on a potential gold mind

Where can you run a 13mm rotor?

They're designed mostly for Touring Car I believe, and probably off road could benefit from them.
