And it's two-fold.

Seems like now, when Wal-Mart is selling their "Fresh Cherries" stock at an astounding price, most of the older releases aren't on the rack, such as the American Motors vehicles.

And secondly, not every Wal-Mart carries the "Fresh Cherries" diecasts, and everyone knows that gas isn't a cheap commodity anymore.

I specifically pointed out American Motors because of something I recently found that I can use in a diorama or something similar. Oh well. :(

Gremlins, Matadors, and Pacers abound over here.. Not sure what you mean by no American motors... Tons of Pintos and Mavericks too. Have yet to see the T&C Wagon or K-car.

slythorne, yes, I was referring to the American Motors cars (Pacers, Gremlins, Matadors, etc.). I've found a couple of yellow Hornets, but that's about all. There are a few more Wal-Marts I can check out.

The reason why the sudden interest in American Motors is because I finally found a pic of an 1970s-era AMC pillar sign, that I've cropped and filled in a sliver of a blank space. I'm wanting to make a 1/60 scale pillar sign out of it, to display with my AMC vehicles. From some helpful information that I've received, the pillar signs were 20' and 25', and a few were as tall as 30', I would imagine erected at their mega-dealerships.

Dear All:

I also found some of the discounted Fresh Cherries, but the absent AMCs were the Hornet and Matador (the latter was for me a pain to find, anyways). The Fiero also is notable for its absolute absence at the stores.

I do not see the Diplomat, K-Cars, T/C and Horizon anywhere, not even at eBay. Not issued yet?

stanmmx, I've personally seen the T/C wagon and the others. Like I mentioned, not all Wal-Marts carry the "Fresh Cherries" line, unfortunately.

My wally worlds up to late December carried them until they were heavily discounted and never replaced. They were 1/60 scale. Now only one local wally world even carries the 1/87 line which costs as much as the 1/60 did. Very confusing moves by WM.

stanmmx, a neighborhood Wal-Mart of mine has the Dodge Aries K and a couple of the Town and Country wagons. Still interested?

I never saw the Omnis, but my wally had, Hornets, Pacers, Gremlins, and Matadors @ .50 each as of Saturday.
Fieros as well.

Anyone looking to trade for Omnis, let me know.

Me too. I'd almost bet my Ceturions that we are planning the same thing with the Omni. ;) We should talk.

The first time I was able to get any 1/87 fresh Cherries was at a model rail road show, picked up some Pintos.

I had heard of the 1/87s here but my local Wally World didnt start to carry them untill late last year, and all they have ever had are Pintos, Gremlins, Pacers, Bobcats, Escorts, and some K Cars.

The Escorts and K Cars didnt do any thing for me, and the real Pacers were such peaces of junk, I only bought two of them, though I have the Gremlin in all four colors they carried.

They have some of the bigger cars, and when they first started selling them they only had the 1/60, and 1/24 cars, plus the 1/24 kits, took over two years for WW to get the 1/87 cars.

Wally World isnt the best place at staying with the game.
