Well, it starts with one word,'LongWheelBase'. There is just something about the pan chassis, 440x2. I don't know why it is, but when you make it a LWB, it handles just right. Yeah, it's too fast for a small track, but on any table over 14ft, it's pure joy. Next, is the body selection. Now, in 1975, you had Chevelles(Laguna S3s), Torinos, Monte Carlos, Chargers, Matadors, Montegos and Cougars. AFX just about had the whole field covered. But in Tyco land, you have to make some adjustments. We use the 74 Charger, 75 Laguna S3 (from Ideal), 71 Satellite 4 door (slitely modified), the 70 Javelin, and 70 Boss Mustang. All of these bodies handle remarkably simular, and with the right paint scheme, seems to blend right in. We use stock tires and box stock chassis. I have a four lane banked track with a separate road coarse in the middle, and they work great on both. www.myspace.com/northtexasslotcars

I agree, these cars are great! We used to run 440-X2 NASCARs all fothe time, the only change we did was putting on slip-on silicone tires and we had some really great racing.
