I have some friends here in the Dallas area I've been racing with since 1992. We met at a HO track in Garland called ACTION SPEEDWAY. We have had a blast over the years and have watched other racers come and go. We usually have 4 to 6 racers, depending on work schedules. We believe we are the oldest on going group of HO racers in DFW. Why shouldn't we? We never run across anyone else interested in HOs. LOL

We run everything, from Tjets to HP7s, 440x2s, Turbos, MagnaTractions, SuperG+, LifeLike M & Ts, all in one night. One night we raced 14 classes for over fifteen hours! How do we do it? This may sound crazy, but, all this time we've raced without lap counters. We basically have a lap and a half drag race on a 4 lane road course. Each driver runs through the lanes twice. First place gets 4 points, 2nd get 3, 3rd gets 2, and last gets 1. Sometimes we add 1 bonus point for completing the course. It has produced some very exciting 'last lap' finishes and crashes. We usually race at Larry's.

Since the first of the year, Larry has added a lap counter system, and I have built a track and installed a lap counter system. You would think we would be racing even more. Wrong, with summer almost here, and a lack of corner marshalls, our race nights have died out. We have neater stuff now than we ever had, but when we meet up, it's one big time trial to see who can get the fastest lap, and that's it.

LAP COUNTERS HAVE RUINED ALL OF OUR LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, not really. It just may take some time getting used to.

We're still racing. Lookin' for more racers.

I run 1/32 slots down on the NW side of Houston in Cypress (yes, its in Texas, but not in the Dallas area) and there are claims that we are about to have an HO track installed in the additional room that was recently added. So as far as others racing HO in Texas, yes, we are here, just not there. :p

Yes, Neil's Wheels is in Plano. I used to race there, but haven't heard of any racing going on there lately. I wish.

My Daughter and I race at neils every now and then. Neil also offered to let us do a 24hr race there for charity. He's been a great supporter of HOHT as has Dash , SCJ and motorcity toyz.. ( I learned how to do that watching Nascar lol...)

You know that opening scene of the ghost town with the wind blowing and the tumble weeds rolling? That must be the slot car scene here in DFW. I can't believe there's no one else out here racing? They must be on the lake.

NTx--- you could try creating new racers. I'm sure you could get a lot of interest just by taking a portable track to a mall. Get some prizes, have a sign-up to gauge interest, then have a starter series for the new racers you get to commit.
