View Full Version : Freddie's Worlds Oval
Freddie's Hobbies 05-26-2008, 05:32 PM Well July is just a short month away and July 4,5,6th we will be holding the World Oval Race once again.
I know the high gas prices have put a damper on everyone’s, extra money we all had set aside as out race budget, but I think its safe anyone can ask anyone that was here last year and they will say it was a real nice time.
This year we will simplify things the classes we will be running are as follows
4-Cell Stock: Same rules as we ran for every other race with the exception of it will not be a hand out race.
4-Cell Spec Truck: Must use the trinity street spec motor and the trinity street spec pack
4-Cell Mod.: Depending on the amount of brushed and brushless will determine if they will be run together.
4-Cell 10.5
4-Cell 13.5: Both classes may use an approved ROAR Motor. And follow the ROAR motor rules. weight, height, and chassis specs will be posted as ARCOR rules
10.5 With 2 S Li-Po Orion 3200 mAh pack
Open Indy Car. Pretty much no rules what ever you want it to be.
We will make a class as long as we have 4 or more for that class.
I do not expect a very large turn out do to the gas prices and the fact oval racing has become much divided. We will be racing on that weekend and having a good time anyone wishing to come on out is always welcome. Race Entry will be $ 25.00 per class
Any details you wish to know feel free to ask.
adamliehr 05-28-2008, 12:27 PM Looking forward to it.
What classes is everyone running?
-Adam
can we run 17.5 with the stockers like roar??? and is there a body rule for lipo 10.5???
Freddie's Hobbies 05-29-2008, 10:33 AM It all depends on who shows up. If we have a nice turn out for 17.5 and a nice turn out for stock then they will be separate.
As far as the body height for the 10.5 and li-po same as the 4-cell stcok rule height. and after running it it works well with a nice big Bud wing on the back
Diff Dude 05-29-2008, 10:53 AM Freddie,
You have one of the best oval tracks in the nation. I was hopping to make the race but will be having surgery in mid June and won't be able to make it. I hope you have a good turn out.
Dave Irrgang
Freddie's Hobbies 05-29-2008, 11:02 AM Thanks Dave, I hope everything goes well. Budd sugested the 21.5 with the li-po that roar runs. Like I said earier, 4 or more make a class. Bring it. IF 50-60 guys who up come one, come all. Its a super smooth BIG track and its all about having fun.
thats sweet......................we should be able to get some of these southern boys to show????? Any takers???
Freddie's Hobbies 05-29-2008, 11:31 AM From my past experience the southern boys dont travel very well. I think they would have a good time if they did. You know they would never know unless they trieddddddd :)
The trip would be nice. and there is a water park 20 min away you can bring the kids and wife and send them to the water park and you would be their hero then :) Family time awwwwww
SMROCKET 05-31-2008, 12:25 PM Count me in and a few others ....SRM
adamliehr 06-04-2008, 03:53 PM Only a few more weeks!
From what I hear we should be getting a good group of racers, would be nice for people to get on here and let everyone know they are coming.... lol
Adam
Freddie's Hobbies 06-06-2008, 09:12 PM Its a foam race. but John F was just here and we played with the gas 1/10th scale with caps. Very nice I might say.
I told John we need to run a Sept Cap race up here. This July 4 race is foams, just as much fun  The Brushless and Li-po guys will love the speed they can get out of their cars :woohoo:
adamliehr 06-07-2008, 10:53 AM Here is a link to the ROAR Approved motor list.

Freddie's Hobbies 06-08-2008, 04:14 PM Well John F was here this weekend and ran his nitro pan car, that was pretty cool we need 3 of those to show up. That would be fun to watch.
Adam was here today and he was turning 5.3's 4.0 brushless on 4 cells. I saw Donny, John and a few others Friday night and they turned 5.4's with 4.0 and a Li-Po pack. 7.4 volts vs. 4.8 hummmmm You better bring your A game boys
adamliehr 06-09-2008, 07:42 PM Talked to John Foister and Rocket Miller today. Looking to be a good crowd for this race. The track is big enough, you can run just about anything!! Right now it's looking like we will have a decent crowd for modified. Both of the guys said that they were up for 4-cell modified and lipo modified. For modified lipo we are going to open up to any lipo pack (as long as Freddy approves).
Some of us will be there running this coming Sunday, so dig out your stuff and come run!

bush87 06-09-2008, 07:57 PM John Ran a 4 cell with a 4.0 and we ran Lipo / 17.5 with the other cars.
wacko 06-10-2008, 08:46 AM sounded like you guys got around with caps pretty good with no changes to your cars. Imagine the speeds if some tuning occurred. Would like to come up on the 4th but I will be camping and boating that week. maybe someday we can have a capped tire race at this track...like a roar national! a shorter drive as well
joe retherford
Freddie's Hobbies 06-10-2008, 09:27 AM A ROAR Nationals ? come on they would accually need to pick up the phone and call me.
I talked to John this past weekend I told him we need to get Freddie's and BSR Cap race in September in the works.
How about it John Boy. Do you think it will work ?
wacko 06-10-2008, 04:29 PM Sounds like a step in the right direction:thumbsup:
The only conflicting race is on the 20th at the Velo
Maybe we could get some southern boys (further south than Cincy) to attend!
Would like to see this happen:)

hussel7 06-10-2008, 07:35 PM Count 2 brothers in from Van Wert. Figurere on 1 13.5 and 1 17.5 unless there's alot of people then maybe more classes. Hope you still got room for a tent out there at on the grass. C-yall there.
John Foister 06-10-2008, 09:33 PM A ROAR Nationals ? come on they would accually need to pick up the phone and call me.
I talked to John this past weekend I told him we need to get Freddie's and BSR Cap race in September in the works.
How about it John Boy. Do you think it will work ?
Freddie I am talking to the guys to see if there is any interest. I will let ya know as soon as I have gathered a consensus. By the way, you do have a fantastic race track and facility. I look forward to coming back for 10th scale racing.
Roar National races are bid on. Go to the Roar web site and you can print out the bid package if you are interested.
wacko 06-11-2008, 07:59 AM Something to consider as well Freddie.
If you are able to get a National it will also build interest in the track leading up to the race. Racers tend to frequent the Nationals event track all summer. Easley is a good example. 4 of us from cincy will be there atleast 3 times this year. I am sure that if Nationals were at your track next year that number would be greater. For now it would be cool to get a nice end of season race going.
Joe
Freddie's Hobbies 06-11-2008, 11:21 AM Well I guess I will call them once again and see if I get the we are to good for you responce that I received once before.
Now to bigger and better things. I keep getting e-mails from guys that say they are coming to the race this July 4th weekend. Depending on the turnout we will either run a very long day Saturday with 3 qualifiers and mains or if everyone would like we can run 3-4 qualifiers on Saturday and triple A-Mains on Sunday.
Steve from Classic Hobbies. has cancelled his race to join in or this race bringing his fellow racers. I do have one question to throw out to everyone. There are about 10 nitro pan cars that would like to run as well. I do not feel it will be a problem because they will be on foam as well. But there will be some Nitro oil put down on the track from them running. To be honest it will just make the track have more grip for the rest of us. ITs all up to you guys. I am looking at this July 4th race as nothing more than some good close racing and the MAIN GOAL is that we all have a good time.
BDDelbert2 06-11-2008, 12:20 PM
Sorry to hear that Steve has cancelled his race, but 2 big races on the same weekend, so close together would have split the racers.
Since the guys that were gonna run at Steves will probably now go to Freddies, will those classes be run there? In particular the Spec Truck. Steve was allowing the WindTunnel 3000 spec batteries and any tire combo. Any ideas on that?
Thanks,
Dale
Freddie's Hobbies 06-11-2008, 12:28 PM depending on how many show up I was not going to allow the 3000 mAh batteries. I know I received calls from guys in NJ that were coming and they all run the Trininty 16oo like Spec is suppose to be ran. If enough come for the class and enough have 1600 and enough have 3000 we will run two classes of them Simple answer to a simple problem.
Part of spec racing was gearing your truck to make sure you had enough to run the 4 min. But like I said if 4 or more show we will run another class. This race is to have a good time . Good racing good friends and a good time. period
DAVON 06-11-2008, 01:34 PM AS USUAL FREDDIE IS GOING TO MAKE IT FUN FOR EVERYBODY THAT SHOWS UP TO RACE....

adamliehr 06-11-2008, 09:44 PM Just bring some BIG GEAR
