In all honesty, I probably have the WORST luck when it comes to finding GM's in the wild. In all honesty, I have either opened a case, watched a stocker open a case, or have been the first one to freshly stocked pegs where all 12 cars were still there, FIFTY times now! In all that, I have found EXACTLY ONE Green Machine!! The law of averages says I should be up to 12 or 13 by now. But Nooooooooooooooooo.

Well, at least I FINALLY scored my second one today! Walked into a TRU at opening. I overhear a Star Wars guy talking to the stocker (sounded like a local--I'm not). Stocker says truck came in yesterday, but they didn't get much out overnight. SW guy asked if they got any SW in. Stocker told him what they got in (was not what he was looking for). I figure what the heck, and asked if they got any JL or GL in. Says he saw one case of GL and If I had a couple of minutes, he'd go try to find it. He comes back out, openeing the case as he's walking towards me. Hands me the case and goes back to stocking. Found this little gem staring at me from amongst all the Black!!

I explained how much I appreciated his help (and attitude!!) and why, shook his hand and bounced up to the checkout!!

Nice one. Congrats. Every once and a while you can find a good person in the stores. Restores your faith in mankind.

Cool find, but I thought you found more than one GM in the past? I remember a post from you where you went to help fix your daughter's car and found 3 of them.

Well, either old age or the grandchild is getting to me! I stand corrected, this is actually my THIRD GM find. My first one was a Series 3 MCG Stock Cuda and the last time you're referring to was the Series 5 MCG Custom Road Runner. When I travel to the Twin Cities, I ALWAYS carry my extra White Lightnings with me (the only WL's in my permanent collection are my Cutlass/442s). There are two guys that I have come to know quite well that are primarily WL collectors. Like most others, they buy TH's and GM's for trading. On this day, I actually traded two nice Whites for the other two Greens. I'm sorry if it seemed like I found all three hanging. But, if I wouldn't have gone that day, I would not have run into them and I would not have come home with the three GM's (and the two TH's).

BTW, 3 out of 50 or 51 is STILL Horrible!! LOL!!

I thought you found those, but hey, one is still great! Though I hardly ever go out specifically for diecast, I almost always only see the left-overs. You are lucky just to see all 12 on the peg, even if there was no Green Machine. The mathematical odds suck for 3 out of 51, but that is better than 0!

I am still batting a zero so be happy with your three my man. I am not stressing it though. Life goes on.......Still would be nice to have at least one
