About a year ago, we were discussing the possible emergence of a revived Aurora based on a new (though bare) website. I have heard nothing in months. Has anyone heard anything? Last I heard they were going to issue their plastic models around Christmas time 2007.

Thanks...Joe

Only thing is what is on their web site, don't seem like much is going on with them. http://www.auroraplasticscorp.com/

My guess would be the rude awakening that they don't own or have rights to all the vintage names and stuff they assumed they did - remember the half page and more of legal ramblings the site once had?

Who does own the Aurora name then? Tom Lowe?

CineModels.

TL owns the Thunderjets and CurveHugger trademarks, and a whole slew of others.

Tomy does. Look at any Tomy chassis. The Aurora name and A/FX is on it.

Tomy does own it for use on slot cars, CineModels owns it for use on models (CineModels owns the classisc Aurora logo) (http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=ud0npp.5.1).

There is documentation online, the USPTO found the "new" Aurora's request to conflict with the CineModel trademark.

Tom Lowe did the best thing grabbing up the Autoworld name........I think that accounts for all the 70's type slot car names available (afx/aurora/model motoring)
Would have been great to see Dan @ Dash grab the Aurora name, don't matter though, his names growing and I'm still buying from him.
