Those of you who know me know that my customs typically capture man's in humanity to machine, and that was the original goal for this custom as well.

I just couldn't do it.

I started out to do a beat down old Scout, something that had been down a thousand trails at the hands of a madman, something much less 'chromey'.

Instead, I ended up with this;

I hope you like this departure from my usual fortee (fourtey?, foretey?, what I usually do).

I removed the top and masked the glass, grill, interior, bumpers and taillights.
I forgot to mask the turnsignals, DOH!

Don't get me wrong Jimi, I've got all sorts of sinister plans for this casting, but this one looked so sharp that I just couldn't do it (the color looks very close to the new 78 my neighbor bought when I was a kid, my dad thought seriously about buying one), if I can score a few more of these they're doomed!

SS was it really chrome plated like the last monopoly cars? If so what did you use to prime it? BTW great work.

Just plain ol' Wal*Mart equipment grey primer, and yep it was the chrome one.
