spoilers be here

that Hera is going to be taken by Caprica 6, not the one she shot in the corridor as evidenced by Hera's drawing. The 6 had yellow hair as well as the shared vision Athena, Roselyn and Caprica 6 had together, 6 had bleach-blonde hair, not the ash brown of this 6 that got offed by Athena.

edge-of-the-seat stuff tho.

Oooh, good catch! I'm not sure Athena succeeded anyway; in the promo for the next episode, I seem to recall shots of that Six (the one she gunned down) in sickbay.

Although a lot of fans aren't pleased with this season, I find it extremely interesting and intriguing.

Yeah, I don't get it either. I've liked how they're unfolding the story.

There have been a few middlin' episodes, but I and my wife look forward to it every week!

I wonder why Athena didn't just shoot her in the head. Cylon's, Replicants, or Zombies, shooting in the head is always the way to go.

No, I think it's just a small set of fans who can type faster than those of us who are sitting back and enjoying what's coming through the tube. I'm really diggin' it.

When was the last time you saw a character in a Sci-fi show loose a leg? Bud lost his leg on JAG and that was a pretty big deal, but watching Gaeta "under the knife" was such a wonderfully uncomfortable moment. His disfigurement convinced be that he's #5 (or #1, depending on how you look at it). Can't say exactly why, but it's like Tigh's eye I think.

I agree, there was something omnimous about that lost shot of Gaeta. If he's not the final Cylon he's a really good red herring.

Tory cries when she's having sex. Maybe an allusion to having lost her innocence.

Anders loves a woman who can't fully love him and thought he had lost her before.

Tyrol lost his wife (or his life if his rant is to be believed as real)

Tigh lost an eye and his wife.

Hmmm......

Yup, hmmmmm. "Stumpy ...uh, I mean ...Mr. Gaeta, set jump coordinates" :freak:

Nog lost a leg in DS9. Also a Ron Moore production.

The leg seems to be the "go to" injury for him.

As for Gaeta? after about an hour of his singing, If I were Roslyn I'd be rooting for the cancer...or looking for the nearest airlock.

Okay, okay. I haven't been paying attention. Seriously though, Anakin Skywalker? What long-term consequences were there with his injuries?

I guess maybe I'm feeling like major injuries on the Star Trek series (even Nog) didn't really have life altering consequences - hour for hour of finished product, Trek's not keeping up with Star Wars for disfigurement.

Watching Gaeta loose his leg was scarring for me! Man, that was tough to watch. I just doubt he's gonna be up and walking around soon any better than Tigh can see well out of the empty hole in his head.

John O. I kinda jumped in this thread a bit late over the weekend but I was gonna say that a LOT of people lost limbs in Starship Troopers. But, yea, that kinda of loss doesn't quite pack the punch of watching a major character lose a limb.

ps. thanks for the link to the song explanation.

I missed that one too!!! Damn. Actually the whole loss of limbs thing was a big deal in Starship Troopers.

yea, 3PO got pretty beat up in just about all of the movies. Particularly in the Empire Strikes Back when he was shot into about 10 pieces.

And let's not forget the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail - but that was, afterall, only a flesh wound.

Longstreet. Shattered eyeballs.

I have the previledge of knowing James Franciscus' daughter, Jamie. She's a nurse at Northridge Hospital Medical Center. She once told me about the dog on Longstreet. That was actually the family dog, and met an ignominius end when a former boyfriend of hers ran it over.
