TIA Fantom 05-15-2008, 06:42 PM A MaxAmps 6000 for example needs 4 ounces to be the same weight as an IB4200. It all depends on what battery you are running and how you want the car to handle. hankster 05-15-2008, 06:53 PM Cool, thanks, that gives me an idea of how much weight to buy! David Washburn 05-15-2008, 08:09 PM Hank we got the wieghts in stock at the hobbystore here want me to get ya some lmk man smitymike11 05-15-2008, 09:38 PM Maxamps has a spec racing pack that has the weight all ready in it, its a 5000 mah with 5 or 6 oz in it. medmond 05-15-2008, 10:35 PM As much as possible. My personal optimal is; since the lipo delivers higher capacity and power, a little heavier than with NIMH and mostly rear in 2wd. Reason being, runtimes are not, so much, an issue. But, I also think that i fyou can fit less weight in more effective areas, such as my sbv2 where I have 3 ounces in front of the chassis stiffener mounted int eh rear position, you can acheive more with less. This is not quite enough to make up for the LIPO NIMH difference but puts the optimal weight where it is needed. So, it is a tough question but perhaps this helps. ps. I missed how much you should purchase. Three sticks. The first to set up, second to trim and third to repalce the ones the ones that loose themselves and the others to lend to buddies. Always have a spare stick. They're cheap. Mostly agreed with "Fantom." indy-25 05-15-2008, 10:36 PM I just add an ounce to the front of the car and call it good. So far its worked really well for me. hankster 05-17-2008, 08:36 PM I have some super "trick" weights coming and just needed to know about how much I needed to get. :) indy, adding only 1 oz. is not enough and makes it too light. That would get you DQed in a race that checks weight..... which any track should do. sbrady#0 05-18-2008, 01:25 PM I had to add 2oz to my B4 to make weight with lipo Apl Hed 05-18-2008, 06:44 PM I have some super "trick" weights coming and just needed to know about how much I needed to get. :) indy, adding only 1 oz. is not enough and makes it too light.
