Its a very good model overall. I have some minor complaints here and there (hindsight is 20/20 i am sure when it comes to engineering a kit) but OOTB its a very good first effort for an original Moebius kit. For the average joe modeller its a good mix of detail, buildability, durability and value for the $$. As a more skilled modeller, I see some things that would have made construction and/or painting easier for me, but nothing major.

Worth the wait? 45 years? You bet!!

WarpedD, you are so right! I would have been happy with just the hull, and the Flying Sub. The the extras of the interior, crew members, mini-sub and diving bell, make this model more thrilling to have!
I have to go, my tears of joy makes it hard to see.
