Here is the port side of the control room. Im not sure what the white flecks on the floor are... they arent on my model and werent visible when I took the photo. I placed one of the two standing figures on the periscope island to represent Captain Crane. If you wonder why his shirt looks funny on the front... I just shaded and detailed the front of the figure since the back is invisible. And the exaggerated contrast is much less stark when viewed through the windows in the dark, versus a big blow up photo. Most of this area of the sub is largely invisible anyway.

The big sub laying around in the front of my shop. Its too big to work on behind the counter once the hull went together.

The tail feathers in place. The fit on the outside of the big fins is very poor, especially on the left side. The model needs a bath! There is some putty dust in the engine pods.

The nose section after one putty/sanding session and before the final sanding. There is some dust on the model from the first sanding. I painted around the window section early on to make masking the windows easier during the final painting.

My old PL Jupiter 2 that has sat in this state for 10 years or so. Working on the Seaview interior sparked me to get the J2 out. I finished the model yesterday, albeit very quickly. I slapped some thin plastic over the cut outs I had made for the landing gear at one time, sprayed it with Tamiya Aluminum spray, and glued the top in place. Done deal...

Impressive interior! Having just got my kit, and seeing the size of the interior, you can't get better.

One thing not visible in my photos is that you can look up through the front windows into the hollow top of the sub... I cut a semi-circular piece of stiff card stock to fit right on top of the girders going back to the bulkhead wall. The contours match the curve of the hull just above the windows. I spray painted it silver and glued it in place with Gator Glue. This gives the appearance of a deck above the girders and prevents a see through look to the model. You can't really see past the bulkhead, so a full ceiling isnt necessary if the model isnt lighted.

I noticed that your wall panels on your jupiter 2 are in the wrong places. the wall panel that sits next to the main hatch is in the back behind the missing freezing tube.

And the elevator cage is missing, as is the lighter brown central floor section.
However, your Seaview is looking terrific!

I didn't say it, but the interior pieces were mostly stuck in place and not fixed. And yes the Elevator was not in place. The PL kit is pretty much like a snap together kit. I took the photo with a couple parts not quite right. I did correct the upside down detail on the side door panel. At one time I was going to scratch build a new Elevator cage so I wouldn't be using the poor clear plastic tube parts.

I didn't paint the floor a lighter shade for a couple reasons... on being I was lazy and didn't want to have to mark out a big circle somehow... and in the end its not really visible. The interior is barely visible with the model sealed up.

I did cut out the side window and add some clear glass to it.

I had cut out the landing gear wells but the kit was so poor I gave up on scratch building better gear so I glued thin sheet over the cut outs.

If I can ever find another kit I will do it up right. I did most of the work you see here in a couple days right after I got the kit the first week it came out...
