VERY nice cars dreinecke! I remember my aunt's Cougar when I was a kid - she used to take me for a ride and open her open! Reminded me a lot of my Dad's '69 Z-28 in some respects.

Nice job on the cars!

Thanks PD2, these were a fun job. This is a brand new model I created in 1/32. I could no longer stand looking at the Revell version and had to do it right LOL!

I did the green one as Allan Moffat's T/A car that ran at Riverside in 1967, and obviously Dan Gurney's car as well. Both excellent examples of great drivers.

They both sit on a Scalextric Mustang chassis, and run dead even with the rest of my T/A field.

A guy up the street from me had a 68 GTA Cougar with the
390 horsepower 427.It was maroon with black interior, auto
on the floor, and a black vinyl top.I wonder what one like that
would be worth today.

Wow! Definitely a nice collection of T/A's for sure! That has to be a very close to complete collection for the races back then. Are any of those customs or custom painted too? Or was the Cougar your first?

PD2, glad you like them!

I've been casting for 4 years and make over 19 T/A cars and vintage stockers. I've got most of them done, but am still working on the last 6 or so I'll do.

You can see more of them at my site: www.rmsresins.com

How tough are these bodies?
I have a bad habit of not braking at the end of the straight!:freak:

I looked at your website and the Cuda and AMX are sweet looking!!!!!!!

Glad you like them.

The bodies are VERY tough. They compete regularly around the world in club racing, and I've had only 1 report of broken window posts. I personally beat on mine and they've held up great.

Cool! I'll be placing an order soon!

Then some decals from Patto's.

So where are my HO scale cats?

dreinecke
05-15-2008, 11:48 PM
Sorry, I don't do HO as there are a number of very good casters and there are tons of Cougars around.

I only do 1/32, as there wasn't a good Cougar available in that scale. Or a 1970 Camaro, Challenger...but I digress ;)

AHHH!!! That's right! I knew that transporter and Cougar looked familiar - just did not realize it was you, the owner of RMS Resins! Some of the other HT members have posted about your stock cars and T/A's that were available. Very cool! Glad you have made a few posts here - welcome!

If I had any sort of painting skills or ability I'd be all over getting a Camaro and Cougar - I just think I'd ruin a nice car.

Glad you posted up! Enjoy the boards!

PD2 - you caught me! So the fake nose/glasses/mustache didn't do the trick...? ;) I actually lurk more than post as I usually don't finish enough projects a year to make it interesting. I did these two a few months ago, but I've been running them again and just love the way they look going around the track.

As for the painting, you'd be surprised what you can do. I realize I use BMF for trim and that scares some folks, but even just painting it with a brush can be done and done well. Lots of guys in Europe seem to use Humbrol brush-on paints. You won't believe how nice many of them turn out! Now, if I tried that, it would probably look like sandpaper... I use Duplicolor automotive spray cans as I like how the paint goes on, and it dries very quickly.

Hey Joe!

Very cool! I think I remember that car in the new releases line up at the beginning of the year.

Hi dreinecke!

Sorry for my slow/no reply - don't know how I skipped over this post. At any rate, that's amazing that a brush-on paint could come out so smooth. I always think of the brush strokes/lines that gets left when you paint wood or a wall. If it does not leave any strokes/lines from the brush, then that sounds like a great way to paint details and trim. And then using Duplicolor automotive paint ought to make the paint strong enough for any hit! I would have never thought of using that nor that it would adhere to the plastic/resin that well. Very cool idea! No wonder your paint jobs pop!

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Cordoba....and that's the flak I get from everyone ;)

No sweat, that's what was left over in the bottom of the decal box!
