Ok i bought a toshiba satelite laptop. Its a A205-S5831.

I ran the radar for wifi here at my house and found a unsecured WLAN-public network. So far its lightning fast. Today was the first time i had trouble.

Im wondering if its because a thunderstorm blew threw? I have no idea how this Wifi works? I was told thru radio waves.

I was also told i could take the laptop to hot spots and get free intrenet access. Is this true.

I will say this the vista software is killer!! It fixes its self. I have had it re-figure the wireless network. And it fixes in minutes. Without my trying to screw it up. I like that.

So if any computer genesis could help with a crash course in how this works i would be very thankful..

thanks a newbie with a laptop. jason:wave:

Freeloading on someone elses internet connection is not only inconsiderate, it could be considered illegal. There have been successful prosecutions for it.
