Hey yall, iam getting a Barts RC10 Sprint this week and ive got some questions.
First, the sprint is built for Dirt Oval, but since my parents are taking my backyard oval away from me, ive got no were to run it. So iam gonna turn it into a Asphalt Sprint Car!

-Can i put regular BSR front foams on my sprint? Since its a Associated product, i assume regular foams willwork.

-Does a front wing add downforce to a sprint car?

-Would a bigger top wing add downforce to the middle/rear of the car?

-What compunds would be a good baseline for my Sprint Car?

Specs: Its a mid motor car. 27T brushed motor, SMC 4200 battery. Belive its got Delta shocks.
Track Specs: Local basketball court. Ruff (broken up) pavement, kinda bumpy. Somewhat good traction. Flat (No Banking).

Thanks

First if I were you I would beg my parents not to take away the backyard dirt oval. lol...

If you are just running for fun on the asphalt I would get a set of custom works rubber tires for your sprinter. You should get more wear out of them.

A front wing will create more front downforce.(more turn in) A larger rear wing will give you more rear down force. (more stable rear bite) Also keep in mind the more angle you put on the rear wing the more rear downforce you will have as well.

If I were you I would try the rubber tires without any wings at all on the asphalt. With a 27t you should not have a problem getting away with this.

Well since my dad is in Michigan for a business conference, i cant beg right now:(

The sprinter does have Custom Works Street Trac tires on it right now. Iam just curious of what tires the Sprint Car Racers used down at the Snowbirds?
Like the Salivas brothers???

I like the non-wing theme, but the big wing on top is getting to me!
Also, the car came with TC3 shocks, so iam thinking about swithcing em over. Would this affect handeling?

TC3 shocks will definately give you more spring choices. Ive ran a lot of asphalt & concrete tracks & most of the time the softer the better. But when we ran we always used foam tires because there would be a nice groove in the track by days end. Pink rears & purple fronts. If your just running around in a parking lot rubber tires are great.
Where in Michigan are you from? Ive got an indoor carpet oval that we race sprinters on every week. You should check it out if you gey the chance. We're in Elkhart In. only 5 minutes from the Michigan line. There are some picture & videos of the track @ russellrc.com. Good luck with your Barts!

Iam nt from Michigan. My dad is there on a business conference.
As for the TC3 shocks, iam afraid of the shocks being to short for the Barts car. I eyeballed em up, and they seem like the shock will be bottomed out all the time. Any advice?

Sorry on the Michigan thing. On the shocks you can run .71 shafts with a bump stop on the inside. We use to run barts cars about 10 years ago & that's what most of us did. It takes some time to build the shocks correctly to get the length you need & make them work right. Over all it's not to hard. Good luck!

TC-3 shocks are fine. the only time i needed the longer shafts were on a very rough dirt track. as for asphalt or crete. i have never had a problem. If it just gonna be for having a good time stick with rubber tires. BSR Last a long time compared to foams.
