OK, Here it is, at long last...I have a start to a collection! No thanks to Jinx and Database43, I had no choice. Their pics are inspiring and I'm a sucker for race cars, so what else could I do?

Were I to start collecting toy cars today, this is the scale I would collect. I am drawn to the scale not so much for the size, but for the subject matter. This is clearly the size of choice for road racing sports cars! I just have to narrow my taste down to a time period, series, or type of car for no other reason then money management!

I hope you guys enjoy me first real entry into your 1:43 world. Researching the stats were a huge part of the fun on this. I WILL add more cars to my collection with time.

Thanks for looking!
Ward

Excellent choices Ward - the Chapparal & McLaren really look the business. Have you tried taking the rear engine cover off the McLaren yet? - I understand the deteailing by GMP is excellent.

Cheers,

Steve

Theres a guy named Wayne Moyer who lives right up the street next to a friend of mine. He wrote reviews and articles on various diecast vehicles for magazines. I got to see his collection a few months back and it was amazing. He has probably 4-5,000 1/43 cars, the ones you build. He showed me a bunch of Autoart and GMP cars which he recieved for free just because he wrote an article on them. I should have asked him if i could take pictures but i doubt he will be willing since his house has been broken into before. Anyway it is was an awsome experience to see all those 1/43 cars. I don't own any although there are a bunch im considering.

Theres a guy named Wayne Moyer ...

Wow, Wayne is a pretty famous guy in the 1/43 scale world. Neat that you got to meet him. How sad that someone broke into his home. Hope it wasn't because of his collection.

Yea, one day my friend said his next door neighbor collects diecast. So he took me over there and Wayne showed me his collection. Extremely impressive. I didn't really know who he was, although i never read any diecast articles. He probably has most 1/43 scale made. My favorite though was the GMP shelby and a few others which he receives for free. Thsat would be sweet to receive $500+ cars for free lol. He also has a lot of planes. My friend said he is a pilot as well. I don't know why someone broke into his home, but i would feel awkward asking to take pics. It's pretty cool having a big name in diecast live in walking distance. I took some of my Johhnys up there and showed him the type of things i collect. He's a great guy.
