It it safe to clean old Afx or TycoPro track in the dishwasher?

I thought someone did it with success, but not sure.
Anyone try it?

Thanks,
Keith

Darn, I was hoping to see a dishwasher that opened and became a track :(

The plastic should be fine, but not sure if the detergent will etch or affect the metal rails.

Dunno 'bout that eye deer.

Having left a piece of track in the sun and coming back to a black plastic Lasagna noodle, I'd be concerned about hot water and any drying cycle in a modern dishwasher.

Toss a junk test peice in and let us know what happens! Hate to see ya end up with an entire load of chicanes and wiggle tracks.

Might be a good way to make some bump tracks like the old Aurora L&J tracks had.

Don't forget pix! rr

I used to break in cars in a bucket of water with some alcohol and 409.

Any word on the experiment?

We have run PC keyboards through a cold water dishwasher rinse cycle with good results. The key is to use a coldwater cycle and not allow the dry cycle to run. Remove from the dishwasher and dry as good as possible. Then allow to air dry for several days. For the track, I would look to wipe down the rails daily while drying.

Slot car track and water don't mix well.
