Many tracks run in classes such as LeMans, Stock Car/NASCAR, F1/Indy, American Muscle, Group C's, DTM's, etc. They take the car model and lump it into the groups to be run. Then, beyond that, they either limit the field to things like stock motor and components, except changing the tires or gluing and truing the stock tires, etc. Other places allow you to add weight and then require that you remove the magnet. Basically, it depends on where you race. The 1/32nd side is not as consistent when you go nationwide/global - each place will have its own rules. As for the most competitive cars, if you have to keep things box stock and are not allowed to do any modifications, the Slot.it's, NINCO's, SCX's, and Scalextric's can all be competitive right out of the box if they are run with other's of their same brand. But if modifications are allowed, really, almost any car can be competitive if you know how to setup the car and what parts need to be replaced/changed. I hope that helps ya out a bit! Feel free to post other questions, if needed! PD2:thumbsup: tjettim 05-08-2008, 06:16 AM Out of the box, which cars run the best? I saw a Pro-Slot 1/32 hardbody car on ebay.Is this a hopped up car?Thankyou for the info. BRS Hobbies 05-08-2008, 10:35 AM It really depends on the track. You will find each brand of car performs optimally in different situations. A lot of clubs limit each class to one brand of slot cars for this reason. For example, on routed wood tracks the Slot It cars and Spirit cars are very good. On Ninco track, the Avant Slot and Ninco cars are very good. On Scalextric track, the Scalextric cars perform very good. What type of track do you race on? Do you race with or without the traction magnet? Best regards, Brian tjettim 05-08-2008, 12:22 PM I don't have a track.I have a 100 feet per lane HO track that takes up what space I have.We only race from Oct thru April.I am hoping to find a club that races 1/32 for a second tier hobby. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
