checked oil, reset spark plug at .0030, I cleaned the air filter, and I sprayed in starter fluid. I've had it on choke and off choke....I'm tired...I've pulled and pulled.
It is a craftsman 5 hp rear tine tiller b&s engine.
Do I need to take the spark plug back off and put a bolt in it and hold it close to the head or grill and pull and see if it sparks some color? Will I get shocked? Do I need to put my thumb over the spark plug hole and see if it has some compression??
What to do....what to do???
I have got to till tomorrow. I have to!!!!
If you have an answer, please email me

double check it for spark yes, and don't waste your time putting your thumb over the plug hole and pulling it over. Even if you feel air pushing, it doesn't not mean it has enough compression to run

Since you tried starting fluid, I would say you have other problems than fuel. If you do geta spark, you still need to see if the timing is correct. Sometimes the engine will break the key in the flywheel and the flywheel will not be in the correct location for it to fire on the compression stroke. Definately find out if you have spark though, as I would say that is where your problem is, if you have put fuel in the cylinder or like you said, sprayed starter fluid in it, as that should have made it run for a short time, if it was just a fuel problem.

If the plug is wet then it's getting fuel. Check the valves any make sure one of them isn't stuck up.
