My decision process is slowly evolving so I thought I'd start a fresh string.
I think I like Ninco's base sets the best. However, some of the specialty tracks that I'd like (like a hairpin) seem to only be available through Scaletrix. I see Ninco offers an adapter track between the two.
Here's my question, though. One of the cons of Scaletrix's track is that they have shallower slot depth. One website actually implies needing to file down pins to run on Scaletrix. Does anyone run this adapter and find it to be problematic to go from one brand to the other in anyway?
Thanks.

I've never run an adapter for my Scalextric track, so I cannot comment on that.
Regarding the slot depth, running a Sport track (non-digital), I've never had a problem running almost any car. I have run Scalextric, Ninco, FLY, Slot. It, Auto Scale/MRRC, Carerra, and Parma on my track without issue. I know that others have said that they have had to modify their guides, but so far I've not had to do that.
Hope that helps!

They may have been referring to older Scalextric Classic track which is also compatable with SCX analogue track. I use this track and the slot is a little shallow for Carrera, Parma and modern Monogram guides. It also has gaps in the bottom of the slot where a longer guide will catch or bump along if it bottoms out in the slot. I don't have any of the newer sport track to compare but I believe the slot is deeper in that and also has a solid bottom so if the guide is a little too long it may not bumb or catch but ride along the bottom surface.
