David Wall 05-06-2008, 02:55 PM Track is almost complete, should be running in a few more weeks!!
David Wall 05-11-2008, 09:14 AM Glad to see all the new faces that came out today to check out the track. Sounded like everyone liked what they saw. We are 98% finished, we have to finish securing all the pipes in strategic areas, and lay the cross ties down the back straight, then she is good to go! It was good to see some cars running around late this afternoon Glad you guys came out We wil try to get the timing system in and the PA sytem ready to go!!
David Wall 05-14-2008, 01:16 PM Well, after all the work trying to take care of the low spots in the track, we may have finally got it. After all the rain we had last night, there are only 2 or 3 very small water spots standing. Nothing that a broom and blower can't take care of in a matter of minutes. The surface is looking like it will have tons of traction with a little moisture in it Brandon shot some pics monday night, I will try to get them posted up tonight after church.
David Wall 05-15-2008, 07:36 AM This Saturday, May 17th, Weather permitting, I will bring the scoring system out after I get off work and we can have a test and tune day. Should be able to get started around 1pm Saturday afternoon. Our electric service has not been run yet, so we will have to run off of generator power. We should be able to power your chargers, but please no fans or air compressors until we get our service installed. We will be using a temporary drivers stand that will be hauled in on a 20' trailer. It will be there after I get off of work Saturday. This will be a good time to run the scoring system through a day, and we can find out if there are any corrections that need to be made to the track or jumps. Please drop me an e-mail if you think you can make it out to give us an idea of who to expect. I have access to a second generator if it is needed. After we get things tested, we will work on posting a complete race schedule.
If the weather allows it, this will be a free get together, but donations would be appreciated to go toward track expenses and fuel for the generator. We will also be taking donation that will go directly to the construction of a permanent Drivers stand. We need to raise around $1500 to build the permanent stand. Any help would be appreciated. Our temporary stand will work fine until we can it done.
Thanks!
David
Chill Will 05-16-2008, 10:25 PM Hey David. Hope to come up and race with you guys soon.
David Wall 05-18-2008, 10:30 PM Chill, it was great to finally get several cars there sat. and turn in some laps. Everybody had a great time and loved the layout. I think we will be looking at low to mid 40sec lap times. We tried running the amb system off of generator power, but the gen caused elec interference, so we just played. Hopefully the city will get our water and elec in REAL SOON!! I can't wait to fire this thing off!!! :woohoo:
David Wall 05-18-2008, 10:31 PM Man, what great weather for a play day!! Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that made it out to check out the Bullet!! We ran it dry most of the day, but when we decided to put some water down, the TRACTION:woohoo:was UNBELIEVABLE!!! I was pulling power wheelies with my xxx-cr. It was hilarious to watch as I tried to do the triple, but everytime I pulled the trigger, it would lift the front end up and drag the rear wing so I would have to let out of it and settle for the double. We will be talking with the city this week to find out when they will get the water and electric run, then we will post a schedule. We thought we were going to be able to run off of generator power, but it causes electric noise in the scoring system and intercom, so we are going to have to wait and see how quick they can get it installed. We might however have another test and tune soon!! So keep checking back for updates!!

David Wall 05-20-2008, 09:58 PM Alright gang, keep your eye on the weather!!! I have aquired a honda inverter generator that can run the scoring system and pa without interferance, so if the weather works out, we will have a Test and Tune day saturday. We should be able to start around 1pm. Must have ROAR membership (available at track). We will have a $5 track fee to anyone that wants to come. We are going to try to run it as a few rounds of practice, then try to run it as close to a race day as we can. It will all depend on how many show up with the short notice to see how far along we can get, but it will give us a chance to work any bugs out of the scoring system or in most cases scoring system operator. Please shoot me an e-mail or give me a ring if you think you might make it out.
David
David Wall 05-21-2008, 12:42 AM If the weather isn't good saturday, might be able to work something out for Monday (Memorial Day)...lets here some feedback.......
David Wall 05-21-2008, 03:36 PM If anyone wants to help me get the track set up and ready earlier Saturday, we can start practice earlier to get a little more track time in. I can be there pretty much anytime Saturday morning if anybody wants to pitch in and help get things going sooner. We would still wait till after lunch to start any type of racing venue.
Just let me know!
Thanks
David Wall 05-22-2008, 02:36 PM Looks like I will have some help prepping the track and getting the drivers stand, so we will open up earlier. We should be up and running between 9 and 10 oclock saturday morning and Monday morning weather permitting. That will give anyone that wants to come a full day of running!! Look forward to seeing you there!
David

David Wall 05-25-2008, 06:43 PM Thanks to everyone that came out saturday. We had a great time, the scoring system worked flawlessly, the track held moisture very well, lots of traction! I ended up running holeshots on my Losi 8 and they felt great!
For anyone heading out for the Memorial day get together, we will have the track open about 9 am for practice, we will start racing at 12:30. Signup will close at 12 to give us plenty of time to get heats set up. We look forward to seeing all you guys from Memphis heading this way, I think you will enjoy the track!!
Just a reminder, must be roar member ( available trackside) and the entry for the day will be $5 a class. Lets Race!!!

David Wall 06-02-2008, 10:02 PM GOOD NEWS GOOD NEWS, they FINALLY trenched the 2" water line in today, so by tommorrow afternoon, we should have our watering system done. We should be able to water the entire track in 15 minutes with the 2" line and fire hoses:eek::D
Just a reminder, anyone that has their own generator, please bring it, they will not have our power ran for a few more weeks, so we are running of of generators, and it won't be hard to overload them. Unless you are using your own, please NO AIR COMPRESSORS.
