what kind of cars are you running on the oval? could i run my tc3 or tc4?or should i invest in an oval car?and what class of motors and bats are you running?

General
05-30-2008, 11:51 PM
well I know of at least two tc4's that run, but they normally run the nitro tc3, but if you plan on racing inside on the carpet at anytime then it wouldn't be a waste to invest in the pan car. There are three good used pan cars in the showcase that people are selling for really good prices. One of them is a LE with a 10.5 bruschless pro system on it ready to run, Theres an older L4, and a newer L4 roller with new spec truck body on it. There is also a NTC3 team car with a serio 5 port turbo head as well. So if you do go to spend money on anything you might want to check these out first and save a few bucks.

What is the plans for pits for the big race? Can you pit inside or is it to hot or pit out side around the track if so what do I need to bring. I will have a pop up and chair. Do you half to run a wing on the cars or does it not make a difference. One more thing what do you use for tire compound?

General
06-07-2008, 05:20 PM
We can pit inside and outside. It dont get to hot in there now that the walls are insulated, and once the big fans are on the breeze feels pretty good. Put it this way , it feels alot better inside than out.

This Fri. we will be racing the electric and the nitro outside on the asphalt. No inside racing. The tracks will be closed on Sat. We will have a table and a small track set up at the Wings Over Akron Air Show. So come on down and enjoy the fun and all the excitement at the airshow.

Instead of getting just a few or better here we have moved are race and joined Freddies crowed and are going to be racing there. It should be alot of fun for everyone. I think this will be the first big step in both these tracks working together to build a bigger and better racing community here in Ohio for everyone to join in on and have some great fun and racing.

Bye bye asphalt, here comes the dirt. Next week I'm going to have the new dirt oval put inside the asphalt and we will be able to run by next Sat. as soon as I can get the trucks to start bringing in the other dirt I'm going to go right over the asphalt as well and have a nice dirt oval for all the scales to run on. Bring on the sprints, sliders, and late models.

You got it, the whole oval. This week I'm going to do the dirt oval inside the asphalt so we can get all the guys here with the 1/18th and 1/10th scale next weekend, and then as they bring the dirt in they will be dumping it right over the asphalt. Once that is finished they will start dumping the dirt in the back for the bigger dirt oval. The City of Akron is going to be hauling in the dirt from verious jobs as they get it. They told me they will start bringing it in within a week or so. We will have the biggest and the baddest dirt ovals in this area. Talk about fun, nuthing but dirt outside, and nothing but electric inside.

What I'm trying to do is seperate the tracks to where me and Freddie are not competing for the same racers in the summertime. It will make it easyier on him and on me, hopefully that way his track will grow as big as it can and so will mine. If not, well at least i gave it a shot. So put on your boots and get ready to play in the dirt.

As soon as the dirt starts coming in I will build the tracks, and then we will bring in clay for the top of the surface.
All of this just takes time and alot of money. I'm putting it in as I can, I just need the rain to stay away for a while so they can get the dirt and bring it.
This place is open every weekend from daylight till after dark. Through the week it's hard to work other jobs and be here at the same time, but thats the only way to do it right now. When all these tracks are put in it should be alittle more easy to be around the shop. This will be the place to go for all the dirt tracks , and the biggest and best carpet track in this area. I'm shooting to have one of the only places you can run all the differant cars, trucks , and buggies. Unless someone else does the same thing, But if someone does then we should have one heck of a point series.
When I opened this shop, I opened it for a reason, and thats because I love this hobby and I want to make a place we can all go to, to race and have a good time without all the BS attached. Since I've been here we've came to a whole nother level at this shop and it's not stoping there. When I get these other tracks completed we will be one of the only muti track facilities in Ohio with more than just two or three tracks, we will have about 9 or ten, and if that dont pull enough people to keep me here during the week, well I better hit the Darn lottery, because I'm not quiting. I was told by more than one and thru the grapevine more than two that I would not last more than two months. Well I guess those people didn't know what kind of determination I have, and I don't think they knew the HELL I was through before and during the biggining of starting this little crusade. But take a good look because this aint sht compared to that, so the only way I will quit is if the racers want me to, and I don't really think that is going to happen either, everyone of them I've met so far seems to like the direction we are going, and some how we've all became pretty good friends. So bottom line is keep your cars off ebay and charge um up, because there is more to come.

We actually added about 2ft to the straits and 4ft wider in the turns with concrete and then the inside is clay with a 6 inch wall and the yellow pipe to seperate the clay from the concrete/ ashpalt. IF 1/4 SCALES,NITRO'S AND PAN CAR SHOW THE NEED TO KEEP IMPROVING THE ASHPALT OVAL WHO KNOWS MAYBE IT WILL BE BIGGER AND ALL NEW PAVED NEXT YEAR..WE WILL SEE WHO SHOWS A INTEREST IN RUNNING IT.
