well lets start with what i have a novak. ss 10.5 system, that was fixed once by novak and i got the novak ss+ version 2 speedo, xbr is what it seems to be.
well my son was driving it in his b4 buggy, and it started to cog when you first start out, was not all them time, but seemed to be getting wporse, well being a kids he did not tell me and kept driving, untill i watched the smoke come out from under the body.. well got so hot it melt the deans connectors togther, and popped out 1 solder joint, smoke was / is from the speedo. if i hook it back up and give it gas i get smoke from the heat sinks and nothing moves..

wow this is to drwn out.. my question is how do i tell if the speedo went bad, or the motor went bad causing the speedo to go bad??
have another sysytem in another truck i could test with but dont want to hurt it..

Unhook your three wires from your motor and turn on your speed control. leave the sensor wires conected and give it throttle. If it smokes, bad speed control. Or switch just the motors and give that a try too.

Check Your Bearing I Bet The Bigger One In The Front Is Seized Up Or Close To It I Had Something Similiar Happen And When I Pulled The Motor Out That Front Bearing Was Siezed Up So I Spent The $10.00 At Rc4less.com And Got The Ceramic Motor Bearing Best Ten Bucks I Have Spent On My Motor

well after further inspection... wow he melted the windings/ epoxy that sit on the case of the motor and now i cant get the rotor out of the motor because of this.. wow he tore it up good.
so i basiclly have to have the motor and speedo replaced or buy new.. $40.00 diffence..
hes got damm good timing with this as race season just started..
