S. Jerusalem 10-24-2008, 05:48 PM Man Brian, I like your weather forecast better!! LOL!!
Check this out, just updated http://www.crh.noaa.gov/product.php?site=grr&product=afd&issuedby=grr
HAH! I had to stop at "Vorticity Pivots".
2fst2c 10-24-2008, 06:00 PM Well I like mine better also! Besides that NOAA dude is smokin crack I hear! lol The crappy weather is for GR not Martin The weather is always better in Martin. Especially because I want to Race and I'm a believer!! :)
2fst2c 10-24-2008, 06:05 PM See I get 2 different forecasts for tomorrow from NOAA site. Check this one out for Saturday. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?zoneid=MIZ064
ehartman_49348 10-24-2008, 06:26 PM I spoke to Hank a little earlier and at this point we think postponing the race until next week Sunday would be better. So we'll put the option out here: Try to race tomorrow or move the race to next Sunday (11/2)? Provide your feedback by 8PM, so we can make a final decision. Brian, you are prolly the only one that has seen the track... Were there any wash-outs? Did you have a chance to walk on the track? Let me know ASAP.
Edwin
2fst2c 10-24-2008, 06:32 PM Edwin, I didn't walk out to the track, but I got out and looked for washouts in the usual spots. Didn't see any. There were 2 small ones in the parking area up by the pit/drivers stand. It really looks like it's taking the rain well. It's not even raining here now. In fact the sky is clear to the west. The long range outlook is better for next Saturday then Sunday. They are calling for rain Next Sunday. Warm up Weds-Saturday in the 50's, Rain Sunday. I'm good to go either way. But I live close so it's up to the long haulers really.

ehartman_49348 10-24-2008, 08:05 PM Final decision: No racing tomorrow. For right now the race is postponed until Sunday November 2nd. Hank will not be available Saturday November 1st, but I am going to try to find someone to announce for Saturday. Until then: Sunday 11/02/2008 it is. If someone knows someone that would like to volunteer to announce Saturday 11/01/2008, let me know.

Edwin, you should announce..you did an awesome job at the race last month!:p

I did enjoy announcing that race, but next week I'd rather focus on racing than announcing.... In my opinion it's not good if the announcer races in the same event. We've tried that and it just does not work very well. We could have the computer run the whole event, but I don't like that idea for a cash-back race.... If nobody has problems with that, we could go that route if no other options...

If its not a problem to run on Sunday, I sure would like to be there for the last race. Chuck and I both have to work on Saturday.
Hank
2fst2c 10-24-2008, 10:19 PM Not a problem for me. As long as mother nature agrees to it! It would only be right for you guys to be there for the last race.

Edwin, I was only kidding...but you did do a good job.
2fst2c 10-24-2008, 11:13 PM Should post on the website that the race has been postponed. I have a feeling a few people are going to show up and find out the hard way. A couple of us are going to head there anyways and play around if anyone wants to come out.
maverick712 10-24-2008, 11:42 PM sat is the race, lets show up and be ready to go, if the weather is bad, or its rainy in the mornin then call the race, other wise lets get it on.
2fst2c 10-25-2008, 08:17 AM I'm for that. Weather is ok right now. Rain has ended and looks like sky is trying to clear up. I'll be there either way to play and inform any that are unaware.
2fst2c 10-25-2008, 08:29 AM I see the sun shining, down on me!

The problem isn't if its raining now, its all the rain that we got yesterday. That area was a swamp and it takes alot for it to dry out.
ehartman_49348 10-25-2008, 08:36 AM Too late now. The race will be Sunday 11/02/2008, unless we find an announcer for Saturday...
maverick712 10-25-2008, 09:07 AM has any one seen the track today??
2fst2c 10-25-2008, 09:14 AM Not yet. But I will as soon as it opens. Was thinking of taking a drive over there to see how it looked, but figured I'd just wait until it opens since the race has been canceled anyways.
maverick712 10-25-2008, 09:20 AM We will be up there this afternoon if the weather stays like this.
2fst2c 10-25-2008, 09:25 AM What time are you thinking? I got a couple guys that want to go also. Maybe we could all meet up.
maverick712 10-25-2008, 09:30 AM I have to talk to Mike and Jeff, but I am thinking about 2-3pm, I have some things to do this mornin and not sure when I will be done.
S. Jerusalem 10-25-2008, 09:49 AM Hell yeah. If anybody else is going, I'll be there. Anybody have some canopy space to spare?
sbrady#0 10-25-2008, 09:51 AM so what time will the race start next sunday and will there be any elec. 1/10 trucks running?

Sounds good. I have some things I can get out of the way this morning also. I'll call Kevin and Kevin and let them know. I'll get down to the track and see what it looks like before hand and post back here to let ya know.
2fst2c 10-25-2008, 09:57 AM Hell yeah. If anybody else is going, I'll be there. Anybody have some canopy space to spare?
I'll bring my 10x10 and you can use space under there if you'd like.

Gracias.
ehartman_49348 10-25-2008, 11:55 AM Brian: Any word on the condition of the track? I was thinking about heading out there for a little while for some tuning.... Still shooting for 2PM?
ehartman_49348 10-25-2008, 11:58 AM so what time will the race start next sunday and will there be any elec. 1/10 trucks running?
The plan is to start racing at 11 AM. Electrics are welcome! 3 cars makes a class.... (see flyer on the official cash back race thread)
2fst2c 10-25-2008, 04:08 PM Sorry, took me a bit longer than expected to get chores done. I went to the track. It looks ok, but the gate is closed. Guess I'll try again tomorrow.
2fst2c 10-25-2008, 07:29 PM So does anyone here make road trips in the winter to an indoor track in Indiana or some other location to get their fix? Or am I the only one that starts jones'n mid winter?
xraycer 10-25-2008, 08:05 PM Brian, we usually make the pilgrimage to Factory Tracks over in Highland...in fact, I think there are a couple of guys going tomorrow. Believe me, we all start to get that itch right about now!
I stopped to get some info on a place here in Kzoo that has an indoor MX track in an old warehouse. Stopped there today but they were closed already, so I'll put some info on here after I talk to them and see if we could possibly use the track, or rent some space from them...
2fst2c 10-25-2008, 08:18 PM Mike, I assume this is Mike anyways. You must be referring to panic rev? Never been inside the place but I go buy it almost daily when I visit my buddies at the hobby shop. I'll have to hook up with you guys when you make some road trips. Would be sweet if we could get hooked up in K-zoo though! That's nice and close. :)

So are you thinking it might be a place to run this winter?

Brian - yeah, that's the place! (Oh yeah, this is Mike by the way). Yeah, I stopped there this summer and they told me that they were going to be using the indoors as a track...but I haven't been back since (I get all my MX parts at M&M).
I stopped there today on the way to our secret hobby shop location there in Parchment (ha) and they were closed already...so, we'll have to see what we can find out. Even if they haven't brought dirt in yet, we could rent a bobcat and build ourselves a little course....I think with some of the interest already expressed in this idea - it might be wise to look into it a little further.
Oh yeah - Hank - cross your fingers...it would be a pretty close, easy-to-get-to location for us to play indoors with...it is a huge, 50,000 square foot warehouse style building with 30'-0" ceilings...talk about skying it out indoors! We could build "Gi-gan-tor" indoors and never hit the steel trusses!! Let's hope that these guys might be interested in helping us out...!
2fst2c 10-25-2008, 09:39 PM Mike, they are racing in that building. A guy I work with told me his buddy had been there. I'd take a shot at the trusses! lol Using the old buggy of course! Although, the 1/10 guys won't like it if they don't like our track. I'll be in Parchment the first of the week to pick up some more stuff I ordered. Big "C" and the crew know me well. Normally that's a bad sign but I hang out next door with the owners and shoot the breeze alot. I always tell myself I'm going to stop by Panic but never do. It is a nice BIG building. Hope you can strike up a deal.
tmaxx4life 10-25-2008, 11:26 PM i think that would be awesome to race indoors i would love to smash up the tmaxx all winter so then i wont get bored and start working on the blazer in the snow again

Brian, that's cool - I know the "C" all too well also...ouch:freak:
Feel free to stop in at Panic if you get the chance and just see what they are doing...I was thinking about seeing if they might be interested in letting us try it one weekend out of the month...just to see if he would bite on the idea. It sure would generate some traffic in his shop, and maybe we could work a deal with the MX side of 131 to put up Panic Rev's shop sign up in exchange for letting us hold races there...
Who knows? Maybe they would let us run there once a month or so, at least take the edge off of not running, and sure beats the heck out of driving all the way to Joliet or Detroit...! Let's keep our fingers crossed and see what we can work out!!
fatboylosi 10-26-2008, 01:30 AM I would make the trip from muskegon once a month to get my fix!!!!
Apl Hed 10-26-2008, 02:21 AM so what time will the race start next sunday and will there be any elec. 1/10 trucks running?
if i go ill bring my truck, buggy, and 1/8 electric
maverick712 10-26-2008, 02:30 AM sorry i didn,t make it out to Martin Sat. had to go to the parents and help dad with some things, ate up the day.
2fst2c 10-26-2008, 08:13 AM Mike, I can stop by if you'd like. I work only a few minutes from there. Not like I don't go by there much. Hell, I think that's the reason they re paved Mosel was because I wore it out going to the hobby shop! lol Hoping to get out today. It's dried up around here. For now anyways. Just needs to warm up a couple more degrees.
sbrady#0 10-26-2008, 08:22 AM if i go ill bring my truck, buggy, and 1/8 electric
hey I am going to try to get there for one last out door race just hope there are more 1/10 scale trucks but if theres not I will run with nitro trucks
2fst2c 10-26-2008, 08:37 AM I always have my Jato with me. But like you said, need more than 1 to race. Get 1 more and we can race 1/10's.
2fst2c 10-26-2008, 08:40 AM So who wants to make a road trip? lol
