stuball56 05-01-2008, 08:36 PM Not just for nitro racing!?! I would hope. I've got a couple of nitro killers I'd love to run out there. I am looking forward to checking the track out soon. I'm in Lansing, grew up in GR. We have our little dirt track here, but nothing like this one, looks awesome.
ehartman_49348 05-01-2008, 09:33 PM The drivers stand is coming together quick! It will give a very nice view of the track. Here is an updated panoramic picture of the track (click to enlarge):

buglite97 05-01-2008, 10:59 PM Stopped by there tonight right before it got dark. Great looking track, You should have a birds eye view from the D/ stand.
exlor8er 05-02-2008, 12:02 AM The place looks great. I don't imagine you'll have a problem getting people out to race at this track, Wow!!!
BrentV 05-02-2008, 06:00 AM I'm planning on being there on the 10th. Track looks great.

ehartman_49348 05-02-2008, 01:15 PM What time is racing on the 10th.?
The official flyer will be posted either today or tomorrow, but as of right now this is the schedule:
10:00 AM - Start Practice & Registration
11:30 AM - End Practice & Registration
11:45 AM - Drivers Meeting
12:00 PM - Start racing
Now that we are kind of on the topic, I was wondering what length the races should be for electric. We were thinking about the following:
Electric:
5 mins qualifying
7 mins A-main
5 mins B-main and down
Nitro
7 mins qualifying
30 mins A-main
20 mins B-main
10 mins C-main
7 mins D-main and down

I should be out there again tonight, but not bringing my buggy. Will be working on the drivers stand & pit lane. Several of us are planning on being out at the track running cars tomorrow, if weather permits.
Nolan31 05-02-2008, 02:00 PM What about bumps for both electric and nitro
Losi-Don 05-02-2008, 02:23 PM You might want to bring an rc boat to the track tonight :freak: Mother nature is not cooperating again! AHHHHHHHHHHHH :p

ehartman_49348 05-02-2008, 02:43 PM What about bumps for both electric and nitro
How about 2 bumps? Sounds good? Dave and I were discussing this last night and I believe that that is what we decided.
MX131 05-02-2008, 04:07 PM Looks like the rain has shut us down for the day, but we'll be back tomorrow

Two bump ups is cool. Just have to keep in mind marshalls they seem hard to find at times:freak:

True. How about this: By default there will be 2 bumps, unless there are less than 5 racers in the main, then we will only have 1 bump.

That will work
ehartman_49348 05-02-2008, 07:42 PM I was just out at the track and it looked pretty good, considering the rain that came down! There was not a single puddle on the track! Unfortunately because of the weather there was no change in progress on the drivers stand, but the plan is to continue that work tomorrow! This place is going to rock!

S.Higbee 05-02-2008, 09:34 PM Sweeeeeeeet!!!!!!!! Looks like a good time. Coming down tomorrow if the rain holds out. Does anybody post the conditions of the track? Would hate to drive down from Sand Lake and have it rain soaked. Should be down there late afternoon with two of us. Nobody has step pins in stock so hopefully my gladiators work. There a little larger lug but we'll try. Bring out the nitro's!!!!:woohoo:
MX131 05-02-2008, 09:43 PM I have to work my other job till 4:00 tomorrow so I'll try and post as soon as they call me from the track. Edwin posted earlier that the track was good tonight after the rain, so hopefully tonights rain will soak in fast and only make conditions better. If I hear that its not suitale to run on tomorrow, I'll post asap.
BrentV 05-03-2008, 09:19 AM What does the annual membership include?
Thanks

MX131 05-03-2008, 10:25 AM What does the annual membership include?
Thanks
Brent
Due to the multiple tracks available at our facility, ie: Motocross and RC, we have much higher liability than other RC tracks around the area. The Membership is required so that we have the proper waivers in place for anyone entering the facility. At this point, you can use your membership card for a 15% dicount at Hobby World. We hope to have more arrangements for discounts as time goes on.

BrentV 05-03-2008, 10:26 AM Cool, Thanks
Losi-Don 05-03-2008, 11:04 AM Yup $10 for a membership is cheap. They have to have their bases covered when it comes to liability. Once you see the facility you'll understand why. It's like a huge playground for crazy people like us and it's gonna be top notch. Even talking about indoor facility for motocross and RC. I'm thinking it's gonna be like the Leisure Hours Raceway but with RC and motocross:thumbsup:

Hey Champy!
I ran my 2wd truck with kingpins in rear and 8 rib front and they hooked up great. I just got some Jconcepts DD's and I think they may work better yet but have not tried them. The track has a real nice loam to it and when damp it hooks up great. So DD's, holeshots or something on that order for the 1/10 scale. For 1/8 Crimes will work but something a little more aggressive may work better. Maybe Edwin or others that have ran the 1/8 can help you out more. I saw your tire collection before. You will have something in your tire box that will work. With it being a new track the surface will change after a race or two so tire choice is yet to be determined.

S. Jerusalem 05-03-2008, 04:41 PM Good job on the track, fellas. Had a blast. Huge fun. Amazing what can be done in a months time. I ran wore silver studs in front and red ifmar pins in the rear and it felt pretty dialed. I want to try red studs all around. I think that'll be the hot ticket. I think the holeshots might load up too quick, but I'll try them too.

How wet was the track? I didn't make it out there today. Had to mow the lawn then it rained :freak: I'll be out there tomorrow to help on the stand. What time is everyone planning on being there?

MX131 05-03-2008, 05:05 PM It went great today guys the track only had one muddy spot and it dried up pretty quickly, other than that it went great. the deck is on the drivers stand and can be used, the front rail is on and the other ones are in the procees of being built. Thanks to Jason Dudda and Jason Jakybzyk (sry if i messed ur name up). They helped alot with the electric side of things we will be there tomarrow and will be open anyone and everyone is welcome and remember practice is free with paid membership. We are excited for next weekend and hope for sunshine and a great turnout.
Thanks

ehartman_49348 05-03-2008, 06:15 PM The track was in great shape today! There was one puddle in front of the step-up this morning, but we were able to get that cleared out fairly quickly! It's great to see so many guys come out already and check out the track! The view from the drivers stand is great, but there are no stairs yet. The railing will be going up tomorrow and we are going to start building the elevated pit lane as well!
As far as 1/8th scale tires: I have tested with crime fighters and Panther Gators (Medium Soft) and I like the Gators better so far. I might get a chance to test some more with different tires tomorrow.
If you have not had the chance yet, come on out and check it out! Tomorrow is the last day of free practice with paid membership ($10).
It's great to hear that everybody is so excited about the track! I will take all the credit for that... J/K! I would like to thank everybody that has helped out over the last couple of weeks, like Dave, Maverick, Eddie Hoffius, Richard Ulrich, Don Benedict and plenty of others! And mostly I would like to thank the owner Tony for making all of this possible! It's awesome!

I'll be out tomorrow afternoon. Have to meet Nolan and pick up my Airtronics M8 around noon so I will be there after that.
Picked up another set of DD's tonight. Might try them all the way around my truck.

I will take a rough measurement of the driveline today. The dimensions of the area is 150'x80'. I would guess it would be around 800'.

What a nice day it was. It's great to see a place go up so quick. No Hooters girls? Does that mean Hank is gonna be our Hooter girl? Thats a visual I don't need to see :freak: I had a problem with my speed control tonight. It kept shutting off. Tried fresh batteries when I got home and still did it. Checked all connections too. Changed my radio and receiver and still did it. I emailed Novak just now so I'll see what they say. I may not be able to race this weekend! No speed control! AHHHHHHH That would stink! Hey Tony.... "Whats he building in there?(inside joke) Oh and the drivers stand is gonna be awesome. Birds eye view! Track is about 95% broke in. I'll stop out this week to help. Can anyone get a compactor there for the rythem section and a couple jumps that need a little smoothing out? Lots of people coming out to run and this track has not even had it's first race yet! Just wait till the word gets out :woohoo:
