I'll go either day as long as I'm not going to be charged for every person that comes with me.

I would have to see if wife could switch days. already put in for sun. Could always find a sitter. I would wait to see what day has the best weather if your thinking of changing it anyway.

IMO the best thing to do, regardless of the forecast and date, is announce the date as soon as possible so people can make plans accordingly. Potentially winning money brings 'em outta the woodwork, so to speak.

Just want to correct a statement I made earlier about the spectator fee. I talked to my brother last night and asked him about it. He said that they told him it was 5.00 for spectator fee and he said they were there to watch me and they said ok, go park over there. So they did not charge them like I thought. I just wanted to clarify that. On another note, looks like it is supposed to be a nice weekend for racing. A little cool, but no rain in the forecast. Hope to enjoy another day at the track! See you all then.

That's good but we already know about the sport, Joe sixpack (common term on news nowday's) that see's you guy's racing, stops in because his curoisity is peaked get's charged 5 bucks. Those are the one's you want spreading the word. We put on 2 500+ car, car shows a year, one at 5/3rd park specs get charged ($5 per car load, or $1 a person I think) and the other (Trendway) specs are free, guess which one has more specs and is growing faster. Michigan is all about FREE. "Disclaimer" Both shows all money raised goes straight to charity,(1st Burn Camp for Kids and 2nd show Different family each year that is in need of help) and they both pulled in around $17 grand this year. Being on a street with racers from the drag strip with lots of spectators even ups the growth potential, but would be turned off my guess if they had to pay to watch. I'd pay to see jet car not rc car.
my 1/2 cent.

Hey if you charge them, have a Buggy or truck they could try out in between races then they get something in return.

Hey if you charge them, have a Buggy or truck they could try out in between races then they get something in return.

That actually is an awesome idea...! What if the "entry fee", which would only be charged to those who wanted to maybe attempt to drive, was actually a fee to cover driving a car, which would allow that spectator to maybe drive that particular car in between heats/mains/etc, maybe hand out a gift cert to the spectator that does the best around the track or something (kind of like at Wings Stadium when the people go out on the ice to shoot pucks through the hole in the backstop)...sounds dumb, but who knows?

Maybe if they got a Subway $5 gift card or something, they'll come back the following week as well and try again...maybe bringing a friend or two. Get them hooked, they'll buy their own car and start coming out to race.

Who knows? It might just be a great way to get some more people interested in it, and also lighten the mood a little during a race day...we could all go out and marshall, or randomly be paired up with these people to go up on the stand and talk them around the track or whatever...just sounds like a really awesome idea, and maybe a lot of fun!

I'll offer up my buggy to anyone that wants to try it out and see if they get hooked. I know Kevin offered me his buggy one day to try it out and the next week I had my own.

I just spoke to Hank and here is the deal:
There will be no spectator fee for RC spectators!

Also, the cash back race will be on Saturday October 25th! More information on the race will be posted today. If some people are available to help out with the track, we will be working on the track Tuesday night (10/21) and Thursday night (10/23) and all help would be appreciated to get the track in perfect racing condition for the 25th!

Sorry it took me so long to reply to this, cause it sure got alot of people going. Believe me, there are no plans to change anything for these last few races. The MX track has always had a spectator fee, but not the RC track. I don't know where the confusion came in that day.

Funny that you ask, because Hank and I were discussing that a little while ago. Yes, we can put Sunday as the rain day, but the weather doesn't look good for either at this point....

Im going to try and get out sat to the race but one question how bad does it have to be to consider a rain day?

I see the weather channel has dropped the chance of rain to 30%. It says a few showers possible. It ain't gonna rain. That's my prediction. Screw Craig James and his snow!

Looking at the farmer's almanac, postponing is prolly not an option. This would be the only weekend left, but the weather ain't looking good..... I don't think Hank wants to make a decision until tomorrow morning....

I stopped and looked at the track on the way home tonight. I looks good yet. Just needs to stop raining soon enough to dry out. The outlook from weather.com for Martin is: Rain showers in the morning becoming more intermittent in the afternoon. High 52F. Winds SW at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 40%. Also shows it warming back up next week and no rain for next Saturday at this time.

Well...on the bright side, the NWS says that there is only an isolated chance of a snow shower tomorrow afternoon...otherwise, it'll just be rain!!
