hey fellas, sneeked some pix from the paint room; the final master of der 917 langheck is primered.finally figured out how best to model the front(brake?) intakes flanking the oil cooler, sepperate headlight bezels(these will be cast clear), and drill the fins to accept the mount pins for the wing.now,as soon as i can regain a + cash flow situation,i'll get some more mold builder and make the mk.3 mold!!hope ya like

i surely will, coach! sorry it's taking so long.i've been using the first run of ten or so castings to check handling/mountability on different chassis, painting experiments, etc.so far the longtail handles on par with the porsche 917/10 can am body;the added weight seems to improve electrical contact(more power?)and it actually has a lower c/g.on my "testrack tobelrone"(using both a nos mag/trac and a new auto world x-trac) i noticed i can throttle blip the tail out in the middle of the 18" kerves and skitter through with the inside rear wheel sliding around on the outside of the inner rail ,then hammer down for a "lurid" fishtail out onto the straight.wooohooo!!:woohoo:anyhew, i would like to make them so that the end user has very little assembly work to do.tjd, in motion the car is a gas!when mounted on a low chassis like the bsrt,it really looks mean.thanx!

BK, let me know how to get one from you. You are a modeling master for sure. What other chassis will it sit on? SG+, SRT Tomy? Tyco?

sorry so late to reply, new job and all that rot, wot!thanx to all yuse whom dig my cars!!:wave:it is a Rush(dondant...dondondaaaant...dant..dandandant... .dondant)to hear from all the tallented pipples on this forum! i will let everybody know when iget some good shots out of the mold that will be done later on onest i get my ducks back in formation!Fastlap it was orig made to werk on magna/x traction, but is adaptable to the other faves;the bsrt and super-g+,but these last two require some additional "pillow blocking' front and rear;picture #1 shows the built up front post pins (made to rest on the chassis rails of the mag/trac type)lenthened to rest on the front of the pickup shoe/spring retainer.also marked here is the rear pilow block(a piece of .080x.100 evergreen plastic strip!)installed to rest on the rearend of the srt/super-g.those front pins will have to be lenthened further to rest properly on the front of super-g,however, in order to stop radical nose dive!i dont know what i'll wind up doing about this ,maybe i'll make a version(mold)for each application.hmmm.ya'know, i have'nt even thought about it's sitting on a magnum 440 chassis, maybe we'll see some pre-lim pix of that!this photo also captures(unfortunately)the rough undersides of my castings, this is my first stab/shot at this process and i hope to get better at it. anyhew, picture #2 on the srt,#3 on super-g,#4 on mag trac.#5 is a few days old 'family picture' showing the old gray master in its final version with the first painted cars(91; "my wife's car", and "joachim lightning") and the unpainted srt test hack.again,i'm so glad that people are enjoying the idea of the car and i hope that they will be able to slide them around their tracks in the near future.matt f (Black Knight Racing............none shall pass!)

Wow! Shedding a few myself BK...tears of joy that is.

A proper long tail.

Sheesh! Makes ya wonder what the manufacturers are thinking? Yet another super cool classic car brought to life by a highly skilled independent master modeler.
