Well I did a drop axel on a J/L chassis it worked out well. Anybody have any hints on the placement of the axel holes? I had to play with it after I drilled the holes because they were not aligned perfectly and the chassis was tilted. The plastic between the holes actually is missing on 1 side. It looks like a figure 8. Has anyone used epoxy or such to fix this type of problem? The car runs fine but I am looking for input on how to correctly do it the first time and how to fix this one up. I was thinking epoxy but I dont know how well it will adhere to the chassis.

Hey racer,
J.B. Weld works great for stuff like this...I would give it a shot. Get the stuff that dries in 5 min. and bam you are in like Flin. Who is this Flin guy anyway?
Just an idea...might want to wait and see what others would do....also Bill Hall goop would work...but, first you would have to make up a batch.

Bob's got a good thought!!! Another possible thought, without seeing what you have, is to go ahead an make the holes bigger and glue a piece of tubing in the chassis, for the axel to slide through. Be sure an get it level before the JB Weld sets up.. This might be the easiest fix if the holes are messed up anyways. If in doubt wait for Bill Hall's reply!!! He be the answer man!!! RM

Add brass bushings to the holes. Line the axle up square with a tech block or the chassis boiling block I've seen for sale and fix 'em in place with JB Weld.
Most of the JL/AW chassis I have have holes so big that they could stand to be bushed. Boring the holes aligned correctly would be the hardest part to get right.
