I have a lighting from what i am told 2005ish.
The car has black shocks with screw off plastic upper caps.
I need a set of new or a used set in good shape. mine are very sloppy.
anyone have or know where i can get some. Im told lighting stopped selling the older style.
Also why would a company come out with a shock and then two years later change the shock and not have parts to replace the shocks sold to customers?

I'm looking for the screw off shock caps from the top of the shock and also the the shock bottom that holds the spring. four of each.
I'm not sure but I think the newer lightings shocks screw off the bottom.

I run the old style Lightning shocks and just rebuilt them with new rebuild kits . they seem to work pretty well . I knew the newer style shocks , changed the shock ends to plastic but I didn't realize the screw caps were plastic . Hopefully my all metal shocks don't wear out , like the durability of all metal .

do your shocks tops screw off?
I'm pretty new to the lighting world ....well the whole 1/4 scale world anyways
thanks for your help.
Im hoping BG77 can help me out. can you pm me your number and i can ask some questions on the shocks Bryant?
Jim the new ones are changed on the ends. The older ones(depending on your version) have the bleeder screw and tops come off. I know of 5 different version from Lightning since I have been racing, which is 6 years or so. All the shock bodies and valving are the same on the last 4. They have played with the ends of the shocks, and the tops. The latest 2 have had 2 different ends with the newest being better than the other....But for bleeded air i think they suck. I have 2 different styles, and run the ones that you have just for ease of bleeding. But all of that I have seen work Great, George has the new ones on his car, and you know how well it is. I do not know where to get tops. As far as rebuild kits(leaking shocks), I am working on a supplier for the o-rings. I believe a kit is like 20-25 dollars. The o-rings I get are like 10-15 cents each.
