I'm in for Race 1,4 & 5 LOL.

Went to Vegas Last December, don't need to go there anymore.

Never been to Lake Havasu, that one still could be possible.

I'm planning on Hawaii in Late January or early February, so try and make that fit, unless the Airline sponsorship does materialize.

Beats, Ice, Snow, Fog and Cold Weather, I could see a connection with Snowbirds as well, same parameters, WARMTH.

You could even work in a Southern Califoria deal, I'm sure that Joe with SWtour would love that as well as Scott P. LARCGUY. LOL:woohoo:

LOL - Sonny if you moved to WARM places...you'd have to actually race "OUTDOORS" so you could enjoy it.

Although with the BRL's vast wealth and sponsorships...I guess you could build a TRAVELLING Carpet track on a 55ft semi trailer ... and have a ReAL Traveling Road Show...and by going to Cancun, you'd have to change the name to BRL International~

....oh and how about the HAWAII race be done on a CRUISE SHIP - visiting ALL the islands...LOL (Hey - if ya gonna DREAM - gotta dream BIG!)

You might be surpised how often we climb out of our igloos and race outdoors! Twice a week June through Septemeber on the cap tires for me, at least before I moved out East.

Hey sonny

Personaly I think if you stay closer to home you will have more people come out and race this year...

Personaly I liked having the BRL right at Summit I really enjoyed that.. But most of us racers dont have the Time to Travel all the way to Omaha and places like that...

Hey really like the Series and i think it great. But the Novak finals i think Summit would work great its one of the best tracks in Indiana..

Just my 2cents

Thanks

Summit is not big enough for all the racers that attend the finals. The 1/4 of the lot behind the track would be full of tables.
Summit maybe one of the best in IN. But you need to travel a little. There are always things that can be improved.

we have had 100 racers in summit b4.if they can be held at allens then they could be held at summit.besides summit throws the best BRL parties on the circut......right Racknor?

I'm sure every racer wants there home track or track closest on the tour to be the host of the finals. Maybe the finals could be rotated each year between the tracks that are on the tour.

I wonder if there's any chance the BRL will go to Maximus Raceway in Maine. That would be saweeeet.

i doubt the locals would like the extra and not body needed rules!!!
plus they would need another ounce that they do not run now

And there's the beauty of the BRL, we just want to get together with our buddies and compete against one another on as level a playing field as it gets...if the rules said we had to run trans-am bodies mounted backwards I doubt you'd see a drop in participation.

Right there is how I know you're not orifginally from New England Chuck! LOL People out here would seriously stay home because they couldn't run the body rules they wanted. It's sad.

All I can say is that they are missing some of the best racing around.

I have had more FUN racing with the BRL than ANY other racing out there.
I have raced the Open Wheel several times and the Bird a couple times, but ALL the guys that race the BRL would loan you there last set of tires and battery to get you on the track. That is why the BRL is that good.

Any word on dates yet?

Sonny B
07-23-2008, 02:18 AM
No not yet. Schedule will be available around the first of September.

Probably a 5 race schedule with the first one in early November. The finals will again be the first weekend in April. Exact dates and locations TBD.

Some have expressed concerns about class rules. Although I do not have them finalized yet we will have classes for both NiMh and Lipos. 17.5 and 13.5 classes may see a few updates but essentially the cars as they ran last season will still be legal.

Brian with my new position at work I just don’t have as many open weekends this winter.

I enjoyed attending every event last year but it did get to be a little bit of a grind. Plus with the cost of travel on the rise it probably makes sense to cut back a little and spread out the dates.

Hope to see you at a few this season.

Hi Tracy,

Thanks, we definitely had a good time down there last year. Allan and his racers are all super nice people and a good group to race with.

Unfortunately with a reduced schedule I don’t think we will be able to have a BRL race down there this season. However I’m trying to plan the BRL dates with a large gap so our guys can make it down to the Ovalmasters.

I think we need to have the Wiscosin race, if there is one at Trackside in Milwaukee, between Sonny and Scotty that would be one hell of a race.

TRI State, Ft. Wayne, Trackside, IROAR, Omaha, no particular order.

17.5, 13.5/21.5, Lipo 10.5min motor

All those tracks can handle modified. Don't let guys like me, ulbrik, hansen etc run in the lower classes...

07-28-2008, 07:16 PM
man we can't forget about our grassroots already.it may be out in BFE but without Allen's there would have never been a brl. my vote is go back to old school,13.5 only

pmsimkins

Finals at Cincy

17.5 4 Cell, 13.5/21.5 (3200 limit on LiPO), 13.5 LiPO

Personally I'd like to see LiPO held at 3200 across the board, but I don't think that will happen, so at least hold it down in one class.

no new packs approved mid season

Something to "encourage" the guys in 17.5 who should be in 13.5/21.5 to be in the right class.

Something tells me the schedule and rules are not up for vote though :D

Springfield

Omaha
Trackside
Cincy = Finals.

As some of you may or may not know we will be holding a warm-up race of sorts for your upcoming season here at The Track at Harbor Hobbies on October 10 &11 2008.

Ken L, Bill S and Dave D have been here before and maybe some others, our facility has approximately a 190' run line, 36 x 100 in total size with an onsite hobby shop. The driver's stand is approx. 40' in length and 4' above the racing surface.

We look forward to having you here in October, if there is anything you need for that weekend please let us know so we may have it in stock.

Sonny B

Guys the rules are coming but it has been a frustrating process to say the least. I’m pretty confident know matter what we decide about 50% of the racers will not be happy.

Mr. Boylan and I keep bouncing idea off one another and I think we have some direction on a few issues. Again the rules package may differ slightly from the BRL to the Birds but we are doing our best to keep them close

The first BRL race will not be until early November but I realize some of the local tracks are probably waiting for our rules update. My goal is to have the rules posted by mid to late August. As I said before if you raced 17.5 or 13.5 last year your equipment will still be legal for this year. There will be a 21.5 lipo class just trying to sort out the final rules.

One caution for Lipo users I’ll tell you now that you can leave the heating pads and warming devises at home right next to your freeze spray can. We are not going down that road and will have rules in place to prevent pre-heating or over charging the pack.

Thats good to hear Sonny, I know this whole LIPO deal is a huge debate. As for Harbor Hobbies, there aren't any oval pics posted, but you get the idea when you see the touring car lay out. Plenty of track and plenty of pit space.
