why, what advantage does that charger have over the LRP?

i guess the big one would be the temp cut off

I love my LRP chargers have a 2 and a 3. The only thing is with the 3 you have to jump start dead shorted packs with the motor run mode, and then normal charge. Also with the 3 you can do a partial charge too which is great for storage. I cut off my packs at 5 mv and the cells are about 130-135 degrees.

There has been a lot of used ones you can get pretty cheap that are in good shape still.

in the p1-p2-p3-p4 can you store programs that you set up? I set up what I want, turn off the charger and then back on what I saved is gone. when you said used ones did you mean LRP2 ?

I have freinds that have Much More chargers that work fine with no problems, but the one I have doesn't. I have some of their other products that are good stuff, like the battery fan cooler with a heat sink. I think the have a problem with quality control. The power supplies have a problem with the cooling fan, I would hope they get that under control soon, because I like the small foot print. ( less weight to carry around )

I had a lrp pulsar 3 and went to a checkpoint. In my opinion, the checkpoint is a better value for the money.

I've got the Pulsar 3 and like is as well as the 1st generation and Pulsar 2 that I've owned over time. Like Jason said, with dead shorting packs you have to jump start them. I do the motor-run at 3 volts for 10-15 seconds. Hit the charge mode and go...all is well. Haven't tried the Lipo feature yet as I don't have the battery yet.
