I see there are quite a few questions about the appearance of the GreenLight Camaros at TRU.
Here are the official replys I got from Mike at GreenLight. I hope it answers all of your questions. If not, post them here and I will try to help! :)
ssizler,
The Camaro you are speaking of was produced in several different colors and the production run was split based on colors. Here are the official numbers based on color:
1969 Camaro SS - Daytona 500 Pace Car (1,500 Produced, 30 GM's)
1969 Camaro Z28 - Silver w/Black Stripes (1,500 Produced, 30 GM's)
1969 Yenko Camaro - Blue w/White Stripes (1,500 Produced, 30 GM's)
1969 Yenko Camaro - Yellow w/Black Stripes (1,500 Produced, 30 GM's)
The following Camaro's were produced in solid packs:
1969 Camaro RS-SS - Hugger Orange (2,000 Produced, 40 GM's)
1969 Camaro Z28 - Black w/White Stripes (2,000 Produced, 40 GM's)
1969 Yenko Camaro - Silver w/Black Stripes (2,000 Produced, 40 GM's)
I wanted more info about the distribution of the cars, so here is the result of that query:
Jim,
... I think I’ve got the final answer to your 1:24 Camaro question. The three cars found here (http://greenlighttoys.com/products.html?q=products&page=33&catid=5&scaleid=2) were hobby exclusive editions of the 1:24 scale Camaro’s. Each of those three cars carries it’s own item number because they were solid packed. The mass retail run of these cars seen here (http://greenlighttoys.com/products.html?q=products&page=33&catid=22&scaleid=2) were distributed by Meijer and Menards. The item numbers four versions carried by Meijer/Menards is #60201. Our website only has images of three out of the four cars carried by Meijer and Menard’s. I have attached an image of the fourth version they carried (Yellow w/Black Stripes Yenko). So here is a list run down of what I’ve told you:
12201-06 1:24 1969 Chevy Camaro RS/SS Convertible - Hugger Orange - Hobby Only
12202 1:24 1969 Yenko Camaro - Silver w/ Black Vinyl Roof - Hobby Only
12203 1:24 1969 Chevy Camaro Z28 - Black - Hobby Only
--------------------------------------------------------------------
60201 1:24 1969 Yenko Camaro - Yellow w/Blk Vinyl Roof - Meijer/Menard's
60201 1:24 1969 Camaro Convertible Daytona 500 Pace Car - Meijer/Menard's
60201 1:24 1969 Yenko Camaro - LeMans Blue w/White Stipe - Meijer/Menard's
60201 1:24 1969 Camaro Z28 - Cortez Silver - Meijer/Menard's
The solid pack / 1 of 40 cars are what are showing up at TRU now.
I still need a 1 of 40 GM convertible / non- pace car and a 1 of 40 GM Yenko from the solid packs to complete my collection.
I have a 1 of 30 Z/28 with Black stripes to trade for either car If you are interested or could help me out!
