craftymore 04-11-2008, 01:11 PM Great looking castings from ERTL with opening trunks even! My personal favorite is the metallic green Chrysler. I have a 68 Mustang at home that ERTL did. I'll try to post some pics of it tonight.
pearl 04-11-2008, 01:46 PM yes post some pictures
i like these cars and bought them because they have opening hoods and trunks , the chrysler even the motor has the old large hemi air cleaner looks very realistic. my husband has had a few old hemi cars l.o.l. the kids like these cars they get played with more than any other cars and they are still in good shape
Nice cars and nice background display
Tracey
pearl 04-17-2008, 04:26 PM Nice cars and nice background display
Tracey
thank you
i think these are some of the best cars done in 1/64 scale as far as detail goes .
No_Ice_Kustoms 04-18-2008, 01:29 PM As far as PRICE (2.99 at the time) & Detail & Proportions on these cars you will not find a better Diecast out there, they are like the 1/18 Shrunk to 1/64. AMAZING!!! If they would adopt this concept to JL now that they are all under the same umbrella JL would be worth a LOOK. Enjoy the PIX!!!!!

pearl 04-18-2008, 09:05 PM you got a deal at 2.99 very nice cars . i found mine in a department store k mart type of place at 6.99 canadian they were covered in dust l.o.l. been there a long time
they only had a few never seen any more since then that had to be at least 7 or 8 years ago .
johnny lightning could make them our walmart and t.r.u. store discontinued johnny lightning so nowhere to buy them l.o.l.
thanks for adding your pictures and all fords at that
craftymore 04-18-2008, 10:23 PM The white mustang is the one I have pearl. Great diecast! What else can you say?
Nice pics no ice kustoms! Look really good.
FLOYDFROG 04-19-2008, 01:08 AM I always thought the "American Muscle" 1:64 series were great looking cars:)
pearl 04-19-2008, 09:52 AM craftymore i never found the mustang just the ones i posted but its a nice car. had the 1.1 a long time ago looked something like the one no ice kustoms posted . only it had the shutters on the rear window a 68 390 4 speed green . a bullit look a like my sister has it now . i go by the shape of a car to tell the year. all the mustangs look the same to me from 66 to the 70s l.o.l.when they changed shape .
thats why i collect odd cars like a 55 chevy 56 and 57 58 all look different and easy to tell the year 56 just looked a little different with the grill and tailights
fords are harder to tell on mustangs what year they are i have lots but once i open the pack all i know is its a mustang l.o.l.
and yet my husband is a ford guy .i just collect cars i like the shape of,, the year or make dont matter l.o.l.
pearl 04-19-2008, 09:55 AM I always thought the "American Muscle" 1:64 series were great looking cars:)
of all the little cars i have 1/64 scale ..the ertl would be my favorites , same as the 1/18 scale american muscle cars .
i wish my husband would have kept his but no room for them just kept a few .
Snow owl 04-19-2008, 05:41 PM
Ertl made many fine 1/64 cars and I have many in the collection. I really did like the American Muscle's detail all around, was hoping that they would continue. Thing I find is if I like something it seems like it will not be around long.
Pearl would you be interested in a Mustang? I have an extra and a friend that I did not see in your field. The Friend is also American Muscle. LMK.

The Mopar I believe came in that green, green W/black sides, Yellow, Red. Never saw the red. My favorite era was the early seventies. The ones I try to get all casting options of are Firebirds, dad had one and I had one. Challengers, Chargers, Thunderbirds. Don't get me wrong I like all cars...well jury is still out on the Scion.
pearl 04-20-2008, 11:11 AM i guess my favorites are 50's, cars a few 60's and muscle cars.
ford, mopar, chevy, and even vw, and a few british cars, and some trucks.i think we've had them all never had a firebird but my son-in-law has a 70 camaro 455 olds motor in it.
Snow owl 04-20-2008, 03:53 PM
I miss my bird. I did a ground up resto on it. Had to sell it when I was forced to resign my fed job (long story). I use the computer to make and print the signs for the businesses. the fun part is thinking up the name. I originally thought of "In Your Dreams Classic Muscle of The 50s, 60s, & 70s" but my wife and I decided that was not a good name for a business.
pearl 04-20-2008, 04:50 PM i have not tried printing signs yet, in fact i used my printer once to scan a picture . another thing i have to learn, i have a problem learning how to use things if im not interested i just never bother to many other things i want to do , that are more interesting l.o.l.
maybe in the winter i will try make signs , l.o.l.
we have had a lot of cars my husband gets bored with them and gets rid of them spends hundreds of hours doing a car then has to find another project i like helping him but when it comes to getting rid of anything i want to keep it l.o.l. if i got my own way we would have a few hundred cars by now l.o.l.
the most we had at one time was 13 cars all old cars all been done over and on the road , our insurance was very hi we had 3 teenage drivers on it at that time l.o.l.
we only have 1 project car right now l.o.l.
roachmobkiller 04-23-2008, 12:28 AM Good viewing Pearl!
I only have about four Ertls and
three are cover in mud.:)
Roachie
pearl 04-23-2008, 01:44 PM mr roachie
we only take our tractors out on sunny days so no mud on any l.o.l.
collecting white lightnings and treasure hunts were bad enough
when i was serious about collecting, tried to find them all l.o.l.
no chance of muddy tractors here one of the ladies who work at t.s.c. her husband collects . just certain cars and tractors like cars with white wheels l.o.l. and tractors with mud on them .l.o.l.
