Anybody know what this is? It was connected to the flywheel on a B&S 16 hp v-twin. It came off of a cub cadet rider. Dutch

That looks like an alignment coupler.

The Cub that engine came off of was a shaft drive unit instead of belt drive, That coupler bolted to the flywheel then the drive shaft going to the rear was slid in the center.
