Looking for some help on why when I run 10.5 (novak) the motor sometimes studders when the throtle is pulled. And sometimes it wont go from a dead stop..needs a push?????? Just wondering if its a speedo issue or the motor..Thanks for any help.Jeff

Just a guess, but the Hall sensor on the motor or hall sensor circuits in the SPeed control are going bad. One thing to look at would be the connector, make sure its clean and making a good connection.

How old is the speed control and motor?
Does it happen with more than 1 motor? If so,the Speed contol is more than likely the problem.

I would get the instructions out and reset the SC to the Factory defaults, do the same to the Radio and start over with the settings and setup. Write down ur settings!

Check your solder connections, a bad connection will make it stutter.

I'm pretty sure its the speedo. If the first FET is burned up it won't start moving on its own. I have rarely seen a motor cause this problem. If it's in warranty it should be no problem. If it's past the warranty you should be able to exchange it for a refurb esc.

It wont take of with out a push...but when it does get going its fine.But my other car takes off slow (sluggish)..what does that mean?

you have pm carpy, the sluggish deal might be a bad bearing in the motor or soft profile on the speedo

What ESC are you using? LRP has a Lipo mode that will cause this problem if it isn't set right.

Jeff, whatever you do, don't take any speedo advise from the Rocket.......Just throwing it out there......:o

Novak has been having issues with their brushless systems. I think they dubbed it the bump start syndrome. Give Novak a call and they should get you set up.

it should be the motor i had the same problem last weekend at the brl nats and novak charlie pulled the motor apart and said it was a problem with the sensor being dislodged he gave me a new one and that took care of it

I have a new problem. I could run about 3 laps and as I rolled off the throttle and rolled back on the car started surging. and I can't figure out why. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRICIATED

Ok...Speedo's and motors arrived at Novak Friday....And the final conclusion was............................................... .SPEEDO.

I've had 3 Novak motors do this.

2 4300's and a 13.5 have all done this to me.

Speedo has been fine every time.
