Here's the final stance of "Bite me Milner". Front axle is now soldered in. Wheels were pruned to shape and stub axles were fabbed from stainless brads.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f30/modelmurdering/DSC04194.jpg

Those skinny ribs were cooked in lacquer thinner for a few secs until they started get squooshey and were then stretched onto my truing mandrel. After they dryed I trued them up and transferred them to the rims.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f30/modelmurdering/DSC04195.jpg

This time around we used A-dub shoes for the floating pick-up assembly. Note the shim washer under the dummy motor. This was my final cop out to raise the radiator shell from plowing the track.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f30/modelmurdering/DSC04196.jpg

Here's the crude cleat before some file work and a reskim. Already catching it's fair share of grease! LOL. Note the faint "diggy mark" on the inside trunk. The chassis is crammed up into the body and run to make this mark. Then the driven gear teeth are beveled off and a light buzz with the dremel is used to further clearance this area.

Next up are some radius rods to provide the front body mounts and some body work to tighten up the lower cowl.

Yeah feller's she's raked out all the way to the front yard. Not quite by design either. I got a little wild with the drop axle bends and basically raised the spindle height so far that the front tires wouldnt touch unless the entire length of the frame rail was used or dune buggy rears were used.

By pushing the front axle assem fully forward the frame rail's gradual forward angle of declination brought the tires into contact. Fortunately the guide pin rides in it's normal position so it corners pretty good for being a land yacht.

The guts are a ballanced t-jet arm, super ll magnets, and wizzard brushes. Lapped gearset with and nine tooth final deliver motation. Not a bad short tracker. Skitters nicely under throttle but has good ballance in the turns so I may not change the front axle after all. I kinda like handling and presume I'll get used to the overall length.

I'm hoping that the radius rods once installed will pull the front and rear wheels a little closer together optically.

Thanks for bearing with me and all the kind words guys...I'm almost out of A bodies! ;)

Yeah Buster, my keyboard is filled with drool ...as well as peanut butter toast, green tea, and cat hair! LOL

The wheelie pick up is simply relocating the guide pin to the cross bar between the shoes. Easily done.

Here's an old Speedline interior I fished out of the "Cant throw this away box". I was never comfortable putting the piped up Willys on the shelf. It never seemed finished to me. A little fudge, a slight shave, and a shove got it to fit with out any headaches...plopped right in more or less thanx to the original Gasser stance. Once fit was triple checked, I dotted her up with brush touch and bonded it in. Now those humongous mold lines are puking my guts out! Hahahahah thanx photobucket. No rest for the wicked.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f30/modelmurdering/DSC04437.jpg

Heres Split's Jag. Spent some time re-defining the bodylines and getting the final fit on the bumpers. She sits a hair lower than stock. A careful look reveals a ghost line on the front fender repairs. Dunno if I'm gonna skim it one more time and polish ...or spray it in vibe blue as it is. It'll be a flip of the coin.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f30/modelmurdering/DSC04441.jpg

Hmmmmmm. Any one guess where this is going? ....If you said crazy then you were correct. Behold the Banana Split! LOL named for Coach's recent trip down memory lane...and obviously....it's color!

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f30/modelmurdering/DSC04442.jpg

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f30/modelmurdering/DSC04443.jpg

One of our gang sent in a dualie rig for some tuning and a body conversion. A design that I had considered a while back but wasnt overly thrilled with cuz it seemed kinda hohum at the time. BOY OH BOY was I ever wrong!

I reallly like this one. In usual two to make one fashion the back third was attached to the front two thirds. Like Zilla's woody tour bus the top seam is staggered well away from the vertical/side seams for strength as well as a cosmetic benefit. The rear of the first moon roof provides a good cut off point for the roof seam. Still a few skims away from a smoothey, but ya kinda get the idea.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f30/modelmurdering/DSC04450.jpg

While dialing in the Banana Split's chassis issues (a four gear) I whittled up a Maggy version for one of my shelved projects from last year. From time to time I dig out stuff I was fiddling with months/years before and spend some time moving them forward.

Some of you old timers may remember an old school semi that Boss did way back when. Of course Bobzilla has my first AFX dualie semi. I've been searching for something in between ever since. As usual when I'm in this stage ya gotta use a lot of imagination and a fair amount of squint to see what I'm thinking. first order of business will be a front screw post and morphing the tow truck cab and the AFX 5th wheel section together. The rest is just standard repair work. Chassis runs out great! File this one away in yer memory banks; it'll get picked up and put down from time to time.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f30/modelmurdering/DSC04451.jpg

Wells on the slate 'Vette are coming along. Whenever possible I use another body to mirror the correct look and follow it as closely as possible. Note that the upper Vette has its rocker molded in and the detail is cut in. Very close here. A little more material on the forward corners of the rear rocker/valence area, a few final measurements and we'll move on to finish sanding. Wells are THE hardest repair on any T-jet.

Y'all are too funny! :p

The tank is doable Wes. Tricky in the seam department though, they are quite busy where you have to do the splicing. I'm shopping for a couple right now.

...and yes Scott, Lancelot link is actually a Hobby Talk member, his identity cannot be revealed however....cuz he's a secret chimp. ;)

Split and Rich: I cram all this stuff together to make it simpler to manage. The one thread dealio is actually a Hilltop invention and it works great fer old guys like me who hate to keep track of all my crap. Legal er not they wont put an old guy like me in the pokey!

Randy: This all started cuz of Nuther! Way back when he sent me a Tom Daniels web site...I knew in an instant that I was going about this all wrong and immediatly started splattering lil cars all over. Ya see I look at a four gear Woody and see the Boot Hill express on a slimline. I dont have the coin or inclination to swap dollars with the droll and dour collector types. Waaaay to serious...their castoffs are my inventory...I like to stab lil cars with a sharp knife and laugh about it...then show ya all the pictures!

Been away for a little bit and look what happens.

Everytime we get a U tube diddy or it's like, with 60's/70's fun; it only serves to remind me that everyone working in that area of television was clearly buying thrills down by the pier from Timothy Leary. ;)

Fortunately now recovered from my flashbacks triggered by the Banana Splits reprise, my 'puter wasnt so lucky and recieved permanent brain damage. :freak: Hence my unexcused absence.

My 'puter is typical of most of our modern folks, cant hang...cant maintain...and seeking immediate treatment/counseling after just one short journey to the center of the mind.

The benevolent Wizard Mr. Geekus McPoindexter commanded that I replace my HARD drive and click my heels together three times. Apparently the Viagra I crammed in the CD driver wasnt enough to get it back up. What a piece of carp!

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f30/modelmurdering/DSC04456.jpg

While the 'puter was puked some minor progress was made. Here's the completed magna dually chassis with basket handles removed/modified/relocated. Now the turd...er ...tow truck bones will slide on. Narrowed the front axle for proper tuck.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f30/modelmurdering/DSC04480.jpg

Some of the proposed parts were five fingered from AFX land. At some point we'll figure out how to fidget it all together.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f30/modelmurdering/DSC04457.jpg

Here's a front post made from two t-jet sedan posts from the post graveyard. They were spliced end to end to get some added length and then bonded to the truck cab in the new location. Havent filled the grenade hole yet.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f30/modelmurdering/DSC04458.jpg

Heres the cab mounted with the grenade hole filled. Also a trial fit on the rear fenders. They will first be siamesed together and THEN bonded to the fifth wheel. The rear fender tandems may also be narrowed. With a narrowed front axle and standard width rears things are slightly goofus; but we'll see how it looks once I get a lid on the cab. A little more height may trick the eye. Better get off my butt and get a repop roof from HO Models!

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f30/modelmurdering/DSC04461.jpg

While the Semi was set aside for cure out I found time to build the hairpins for the Bite Me Milner. SOS different day; however it always really fleshes out the front end. Extra weight upfront always helps these rats handle and the added stiffness allows them to tumble without wadding up. The ballanced t-jet arm with super ll's is just unruly enough but no so much that it needs wheelie bars. AKA "the sweet spot!" As always, having the guide pin well back of the front wheels and the added weight ahead of the pin makes these babies a joy to drive. Very neutral and recoverable in all but the hairiest of situations.

Now fabbed it'll sit around 'til I'm in a "finish some stuff up mood". This pic clearly shows that the dummy motor shim spun out of whack and has the chrome "blob-ula" canted forward! LOLOLOLOL!

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f30/modelmurdering/DSC04476.jpg

If ya remember Blue Wilbur's rear wells were cut to the crotch. Dunno if the vintage centerline look will be retained, but for now they help me keep track of my re-radiusing work. Some nicks and boogers yet to smooth out but the gnarley stuff is completed. This car has the dubious distinction of having been cockeyed when it was stenciled at the factory. I may just leave it as oddity...an homage to a cold morning at the Aurora factory when one of the paint gals said, "Awwww screw it!"

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f30/modelmurdering/DSC04481.jpg

Here's a peak at how things really work around here. Bits of dis and dat get pushed around until something strikes me or the muse falls out my nose. A gruesome red Willys like a million others came by way of nun uther than nuther Dave (tjd 241). Crushed and gashed she's the kind of girl ya wouldnt take home to Bob Beers but she does have some redeaming qualities...hard to kill the already dead is my motto. Killed and filled the meatloaf scooper and sknifed what was left of the push bar. Butched off the rest of the top and cut down a JL full raggy to fit. Deep in the background you'll spy a gashed HR roadster that will recieve what was left of the Willy's roof. The roadster cowl has already been removed and the cockpit has been bucked down with a hand file. Door seams and roof driprail lines match up perfectly. The only really painful part for either car is the drudgery of repairing kilt wheel wells. May not touch them for weeks/months or I may dig right in should the fever strike. My bench often has several of these piles going at any one time so if I stall out with a brain fart I can push it aside and pick up something that is more interesting or less frustrating at the time. Other times; If I've stared at them long enough and the fog never lifts, I rake them back into the scrap box and give it a shake.

Thanx fer playin' along guyz!

A schucks Joe...Aurora really did build this truck!....Just not all on the same day. Even the dually chassis was prototyped if ya check the Beers bible. No originality here...just a re-shuffle of items from the shoe box of someday.

Although it was concieved to haul the ultra cool "Model Murdering" semi trailer that Bob...the rediculously generous...zilla built for me; I'm in a dilemma. Somehow I got it in my head that it would be kinda cool as a stake bed too, maybe a flat bed car hauler?
