Hey Butch how 'bout some classes you're expecting? Might have to try and make it up if your going to run some EDM or Spec truck.

BTW, nice to see another shorter track in the area. And, how easy is it for a guy in a wheelchair to see the track?

I'm pretty sure there will be an edm class not sure about spec truck.. I'm sure you can see the track pretty good if not we will get you on the driver stand somehow and if you are going to come a lot I'll build a ramp for you..

Just to let people know as well, we are planning on having a grand opening race on April 19th with trophies and everything. Plenty of Pit Space is available. I have run on the track this past weekend, and can say that it is one of the smoothest tracks I have ever raced on. Drive line and bite are starting to come up. This is honestly one of the nicest facilities, not just track, I have been to in a long time. Come on out and check it out, you won't be sorry.

Weapon 1, take I-90 to the Route 60 exit which is Fredonia, follow 60 all the way in to jamestown. I'd say about 4 hours.

y race it the same it the day as craftworld

JeffPatch29

no guarentees craft world will even be around next year. Greg is selling the track, and honestly doesn't want to be bothered with running it anymore. This facility is permanent and we know it will be around. If another Track pops up next year I have talked to Butch about that and there is certainly room for talks to open up so everyone has the best chance for success. Butch isn't trying to put someone else out of business, he just wants to have a top notch facility for people to enjoy. Greg has even offered to stock the Hobby Shop at butch's, so this track in now way shape or form will hurt what Greg has going on.

badbutch
04-15-2008, 11:22 AM
Greg did sell the track.. There are 6 other days in the week for that other track to run. I'm open all year long and if the other track would have stayed open for the summer I would have picked another day to run but the people that want to run all year long wanted me to run on Sat so that is what I did. I'm running my track for the people that will support me, it belongs to them and will do everything in my power to make them happy and give them the best facillity that I can possibly give them. I think up to this point everyone that has run there has been happy with the facillity. I'm not here to start a war between the tracks but seems that some people are trying to do that for me by spreading rumors that are totally untrue so if anyone wants to know anything just give me a call at (716) 720-5352 and ask me about anything.

Light turnout due to the beautiful weather and HCOT banquet, but I think everybody there had fun.

1/10 Stock Pan
1. Kyle Inman
2. Jeff Patch
3. Bob Patch
4. Tom Parker
5. Matt Steffenhagen

Stock TC A
1. Matt Steffenhagen
2. Trever Lowe (shoulda beat me, but stripped a spur)

I don't have the rest...those are just what I could remember (because I was in them)

Thanks again to Butch for putting it on... sucks with the turnout, but ain't much we can do about that. Also thanks for the trophy...even though I only beat Trever, it's the first/only trophy I've ever won. It was also cool you got BSR to donate some tires for door prizes.

Definately. When its nice, people want to race outside. We had 85 entries at last weekend's WDRA race, and everyone of them said we should have been racing outside because it was so nice...next month.

Just to ease the rumors. The craft world track will be open this fall. Greg may have sold the track, but he still will have alot to do with it. He will a big sponsor for it. Racing will begin the first saturday in oct. Will have at least one ,if not both tour races too. The track has a different owner , but the only change will be the layout of the track itself. also will have sponsored money races and other sponoseres that will be donating to the track.

Not that big of a deal. A lot of people were wondering what was up with the other track. I think the two can coexist as long as they don't go head-to-head on the same day. I'm sure by next fall season everything will be sorted out and we'll have 2 great tracks to go to in Jamestown. How many places can say that? Plus this presents an opportunity to maybe get a nice little series going on between the two tracks. With the right people in place that could be pretty fun.

Matt... Man this new class Crate Late is sure a lot of fun.. You will have to build one and come race with us.. We already have 7 in the class and I bet more to come.. It is cheap and the cars are still fast not like the other spec classes when they had spec 4cell batteries.. We use the Trinity 1600 spec batteries 6cell, Mabuchi sport tuned motor and spec green and blue tires with a Dirt late model body.. I'm also inviting anyone else that would like to try this and any other class to come join in the fun.

Wow Butch...that's great to hear! I might have to slap my 2nd car together for it. Where do I get the batteries and motor? Does Greg stock them? Also, I just need a set of rear tires to run, already have some Blue/Green fronts.

Any progress getting a weeknight thing going? Racing season is underway, so Saturdays for me r/c racing are gonna be few and far between, especially now that I took a job writing for the race program at Dunn Tire Raceway Park (Lancaster).

Anyway, I'm glad you've got some racers. I have a mini late model on order too, so I'll definitely have to get down there sometime to race with you and Tony whenever Losi decides to ship them.

Hey Matt.. Yeah this next week we are going to run on Tues nite.. The tires I talked about are Spec tires.. If you want to purchase the motor, Battery and tires I will have them in stock so not to worry about that.. I know you already have the right body from the unlimited class that CW ran. We are running 3.4 and 3.5 sec laps with these cars so only a tenth off the regular pancar lap times..

I know summer is not a good time for racing but so far this year we haven't had much of a summer. I guess I assumed that the people in this area would try to support a nice track, but I guess in reality they don't care enough to even come and practice on rainy days. If things don't pick up soon this track will not be here. I didn't open this to make lots of money just to give the racers a nice clean place to race but it is costing us too much to keep it open without anyone coming to the track. If you want this track then you better start coming or it will close. This is your track if you want it but if not say good bye to it. Good luck racing where ever you go. I'm going to hang up my rc racing hobby also. I know there are a few people that will be very happy if this track closes because they have been trying everything they can to stop people from coming here and I thank them for their non-support and you know who you are as I know who you are.

It's not you, it's indoor pan car racing in general. Up in rochester there were 6of us last night, in Syracuse on Tuesday there were 4 of us. Summer has everyone busy doing other things. I guarantee there isn't a track owner out there who rents a building not taking money out of pocket to keep things running. It's just the nature of the beast, and even 10 years ago when I raced it was the same way.

Of course when some idiots decide to work against you instead of trying to help, it isn't good for business. Those people should take note... There are 7 days a week in which two tracks could possbly run and co-exsist peacefully. Badmouthing a place because you don't race there isn't good at any level and it hurts the hobby in the end.

matt_s86

Butch-

Sorry to hear that the situation is not so good. I WANT to race at your track, but just don't have the time to get down there with work and such. I haven't heard any bad mouthing about your track. Only rumors saying exactly what you just said. I think everyone knew going in that the summer was going to be very tough to keep getting any racers. Hopefully you can figure something out so there's a track still in the fall. I told Jeremy Gullo about your track and he might be paying you a visit soon since he's back from the army. Maybe you could try to set up a big race to give you a one-time boost? I know the grand opening was a bit of a flop as far as turnout, but ya never know, some people might come out for a one-time midsummer race. Anyway, good luck and I hope you get at least some racers to hold you through 'til fall.

I've been too busy to make it up for any carpet racing, i typically race nitro in the summer so i've been busy with that among other things. If anyone remembers last summer, Carft World tried to run during the summer and it flopped, never had enough cars to make it worth while, adn they quit during the summer. Winter is the only good time to be indoors racing electrics. And I personally don't want to see both tracks running on Saturday. Craftworld has always raced on saturday and just because someone else owns the place, doesn't mean they should have to change the day of the week they run. I like both tracks and i love Bad Butch's facility, but just because Craft World doesn't race during the summer, doesn't mean they should bump days when they start up in the winter. A person that starts a new track knowing a track 10 mins away runs on saturday, should choose another day. Harborcreek runs on Tuesdays, which seems to be the other option for Bad Butch Raceway, also not a good idea. I think that BBR shpuld run on Sunday that way everyone has the chance to race all the great local tracks, instead of forcing them to choose between them.

Ok here's the deal.. Our fall racing schedule will start Sept 27th. Practice is when ever the store is open. There will be nice prizes at the end of each points season. We will have iron man races during the season and each week a king of the hill race. Would like to start a kid's league also. Any questions please call Butch at (716) 720-5352.

Tues night starting Sept 30th

registration 4:30-5:30pm races start at 6:00pm

Sat starting Sept 27th

registration 12:30-2:00pm races start at 2:30pm

Sun

If there is enough interest in running roadcourse and offroad we will setup a schedule.

Not that it's really any of my business as it's your track but why would you pick the same days two other tracks in the area already run/plan to run on? Perhaps working with them rather than against would be beneficial to all of you? Maybe run on Thursdays and Sundays or even a Friday night and Sunday? Again it's non of my business but I can see bad blood brewing already..............

Thing about it is, he doesn't care about the other tracks. He started running practice on his track on saturdays 2 weeks before the end of CraftWorld's Season. He tried to bring people away from Greg even before the season had finished. And Since Greg and/or Troy weren't ignorant enough to try to race during the summer, he feels he gets the Saturday spot. I'm sorry but having 7 people show up to race isn't a turnout, and i don't call that summer racing. Trying to run your track on the same days as 2 other local tracks is simply asinine and stubborn. Its always been this way with Butch for everything RC related. If he gets beat in a class, he makes up a new class that he thinks he can excel at, but then if he gets beat in that one, he stops racing it and starts a new class or tries to change someone else's made-up class. I know this all sounds very blunt, but it all is fact. I have seen it happen over the last 3 winters since he and Tim got back into carpet racing, and frankly, its getting old.

That being said, i still like Butch's track. i love the pit area and i think that's its the smoothest track i've ever raced on. I'd like to race on his track this winter but i love a big track and will race in Falconer before i will race in Jamestown. If he makes his race day different i will come, but if not, i'll see you all in Falconer on Saturdays

I have sent word to Troy to come and see me about trying to work something out to have something between the two tracks but to no avail. I have not talked to him at all.

casper60
08-21-2008, 12:48 PM
Why haven't you gone to him? Why is it his responsibility to come to you?

It's funny, up here we just lost our track and down there you have a couple that can't seem to get along. Must be nice to have an option to race when you want to. where you want to.

Do your best to get along, it only hurts the hobby and racers in the end.
