You can make both combo's work, but it seems with Pinks and Purples your car set up has to be spot on to be good. Whites seem to be a little more forgiving with the car set up. Some people say whites feel like the car is more planted and some say the car is looser. The biggest thing is that the whites will probably wear faster than the pinks.

RR- xx Pink
LR- Pink
LF- xx Pink
RF- Team Purple or Purple

For the last couple of weeks, I have been fooling around with tire combos,
and not cared at all about 'race results'..

I think, and certainly I am no 'authority', that your xxpink LF is closer
to a gray, than a white.
I think the purple is softer than a black
team purple probably close to a black
and xxpurple like a gray silver

This is all by 'feel' on the car... not necessarily durometer....

With the white family, I have not been cleaning the tires between runs,
with the pink family, it seems that they like to be cleaned after each run,
let dry, and then compound..
I find they get pretty nasty.
I've been using the CRC green can brakleen (non-chlorinated)
Cleans good and dries real fast, does not seem to do anything but 'clean'.
And Paragon.

But the big thing I noticed, and to a lot of guys, I'm sure it's obvious,
but no one is mentioning it, is that they do not like to be mixed.
That is, I had zero luck running various combinations of the two families.
Sort of like the Hatfields and McCoys! Just not good.
For me. I think they need to be in the same family, so that the transition
the tires take, takes place at the same time on all four corners..
When using naturals on the front and exotics on the rear, the car started
out really good, but then very quickly, the car became excessively loose..
So to me, that says that the characteristics of the two families, do not
change at the same time... so your car will go from neutral good,
to loose/tight bad... and quickly..
I think the pink family is more temperature sensitive.. they need to be
a little warm...

Yes... both can work... the fastest guys at the track I race at,
use both!

I think I prefer the pink family... I think they do wear a little better,
and I think they are a faster choice, for whatever reason, for me...
I can get beat equally well by both families!! :drunk:

Again... that's just me, I'm no pro at this either..
I'm sure some of the Team BSR guys can offer better input..

New 13.5 record in Glens Falls by almost a second - done twice...once with rubber and once with foams with almost the same finish time.

Rubber:
LR: Pink
RR: Double Pink
LF: Pink
RF: Team Purple

Foam:
LR: Pearl
RR: Pearl/White 70/30 (I love this tire as a RR...run it everywhere)
LF: Green
RF: Grey

With foam the car feels more 'tame' and stuck into the carpet. On rubber the car feels 'skatey' and free...I like how they make the car aggressive and how it seems to 'float'. It's more fun for me to drive and the tire wear is awesome.

*BSR also holds the 17.5 record on the same foam combo above with the exception of a Silver/Grey RF.

Thanks John - BSR tires rule!

???????

Please explain your comment. There were more than three cars on the track...which is what was left running when Steve set it - and one was a 19T first timer, so I'm not sure where the jabs are coming from. And if you still doubt the legitimacy of my record, tell me which one of these cars is the fastest.

Remember I am way up here in the north and I can only get Satellite signal every other day. I have not spoke to anyone about the race down there. My comment was only meant as a joke towards you. I see from the video your car was very good that day as well.

What do you recommend for a 90' x 40 flat oval asphalt indoor track for the
CRC Battle Axe?

Right now I'm running foam rf- white, lf - (I believe) Black, rr - pearl white and lr - white.

And for capped tires ?

Currently one of the pan cars are running double pink foam all the way around and running about .4 seconds ahead of me. He is a ranking national (TC) driver so I expect it.

We just started oval with road course also. No one really has a a clue what combo the run.

We will be the carpet back in August so the guys can get ready for nations. The carpet will be going over the asphalt. What tires for carpet?

Thanks for any help.

Personally I run tire tweak or CW's Dr.Witt on asphalt, but here is what I see guys that run sun screen doing......

They will apply it, let it soak for a few minutes, then rub it in, then wipe off with a shop towel.

I am sure this will get a comment but its just what I see....
