Welcome back Mountain  this forum has been real quiet on the vintage posts this year so far.........
Great photo:thumbsup: i wish I had some photos of the stores that I visited as a child, I have some faded but happy memories of store displays that I chose my toys from..........when ever i saw boxes they were always neatly staked so that the end picture & number were clear to see, I have never seen them just dumped in a tray like this - it is possible to see which models have sold out or perhaps wre not stocked from the display

Wow brings back some memories of youth. Oh to go through that bin today for that 1960's price

Great pic!
There was a grubby little Ma & Pa store where I grew up and they used to dump them
all into a big old wooden pickle barrel.

Back in the 60's, I started out paying 55cents for MBs. That was a considerable sum even though I had a paper route. I never bought several at once - couldn't afford it.
It was at Christmas when my aunt would come over before the rest of the relatives came by, when I would get "quantity". She would typically give me around 10 MBs and some HWs. I would get so excited! (kinda still get that feeling when I'm out hunting:thumbsup:)

wouldn’t it be fun to scoop up as many boxes as you could from your hands to your elbows. if you asked nicely you might also get the display for a few dollars.:)
well into the seventies you could find that out of the way ma & pa with a few rw’s, some first series too.
i wonder if there are a few around somewhere.
sms88 mentioned vintage, the rw-sf has always been the accepted break. with 1982 is slowly reaching the thirty year mark, not long before they are vintage.
funny how the items on the shelves look nice and neat.:)

Around '74 or '75 I found a NOS (new old stock) #33 Zepher w/gray wheels.
It was in a very nice old hobby store. I was about 10 or 11 yrs old and just about
came un-spun!!!
