ovalguy1 03-30-2008, 02:53 PM I'm stuck at work and was going to listen to the race online. I have checked stations all over the country and no one carries Nascar online. I went to Nascar's web page and they expect me to pay to listen to the race when its on TV and the radio for free. They have lost there minds. Just another example of them be greedy bas&$rds. I thought it was a joke I have lost faith in them. Between the spectical they call qulifying and these penny any bs rules they have. The he!! with em.......

ovalguy1 03-30-2008, 03:14 PM You have to pay for that to. The free trail is only sports station.

John Maher 03-30-2008, 03:29 PM Try racingone.com and click on affiliate stations. There you can find radio stations that brodcast the race. Here is the first one I found wzrr.com.

Life's a bitch ain't it?
It's on free tv, and free radio....
You can't blame it all on NASCAR because you don't get either..
huffrcman 03-30-2008, 08:14 PM At least you can get online at work, my computer is blocked.

You ever heard of TIVO??
trailranger 03-30-2008, 10:59 PM You have to goto the NASCAR website and bring up the list of Affilated Radio stations. Go through the list and find a station that had webcasting.
I used to listen to NASCAR at work on the weekends. Now I don't work on the weekends, so I don't remember any of the sites. I had like three sites because some stations don't carry every race or their webcast is offline
swtour 03-31-2008, 02:21 AM I listen to MRN on a live webcast from a station in Bakersfield CA. (I searched for many, and once I found this one, I bookmarked it.)

KenBajdek 03-31-2008, 06:03 PM Try a search for a PRN or MRN broadcaster in your area. It may only be AM in some areas.
Also you may want to try Sirius (I know you have to pay for it but the Sirius broadcast is WAY BETTER than Fox) I Listen to Sirius while I watch the race and turn down the volume on the TV. I can listen to the drivers feed (for free) which is another great way to watch and listen. Getting Siruis was hard to justify before I got it but once you have it you won't want to listen to old FM or AM again. I travel during the week so it makes the commute more enjoyable.

I never thought of that, that is a great idea. I personaly like Fox way better than the other networks broadcast, when bill weber gets on there I just assume shut the TV off, the man makes way too many mistakes for me to listen to, the coverage is awful they spend way too much time on who is running in front when there are plenty other battles behind the leaders. I actually count the mistakes he makes through out a race.
KenBajdek 03-31-2008, 06:15 PM I have my favorite drivers and they usually get mentioned every other lap but it is nice to hear Moody talk about the guy running 10 or 15th who usually doesn't run well all of the time. They know there are 43 drivers out there and they don't just focus on the #24,#88, #20 etc. The driver to crew chatter is well worth the investment. If you have little ones around the driver chatter is not edited though. So if someone gets bumped and run on then it is funny to hear the reactions or sometimes the retaliation plans.
17driver 03-31-2008, 07:12 PM If it sucks and you hate it why do you care that you can't get it?.
ToddFalkowski 04-01-2008, 12:39 PM Yeah, the Sirius broadcast is a million times better. No more "boogity" crap.
sbrady#0 04-05-2008, 11:10 AM I would rather see more dirt races on tv much better races and less wining.
I would rather see more dirt races on tv much better races and less wining.
Then I'm sure you'll be getting the Eldora PPV, featuring all the cup
drivers, with no commercials...
KenBajdek 04-05-2008, 12:36 PM All racers whine. Its just part of their nature. Why do you think Hobbytalk gets so much traffic? LOL
One week is tires, then batteries, motors, rules, getting hacked or cheaters etc, pick a class of racing and you'll find something I'm sure.
JH Racing 04-07-2008, 01:51 PM Nascrap is good if you like follow the leader racing and a good Sunday afternoon nap if you want good racing go to a World of Outlaw Late model race.
abdule 04-07-2008, 05:16 PM Jason why are you so mad all the time?:drunk:
JH Racing 04-07-2008, 06:50 PM Not mad Nascar Is crap right now to many rules.
McLin 04-07-2008, 08:42 PM I have to agree with JH Racing, I haven't seen a good NASCAR race since they started using the COT car. I really like that it's a safer car but I think NASCAR needs to get out of the engineering business and give the tuning back to the crew chiefs. Let THEM decide what front shocks to run and get rid of those stupid bump stops.
I really think that they would be happy if they could make car and driver equal in all 43 positions and they would all cross the finish line at the same time. Any more, I would just as soon watch the Truck races.
swtour 04-07-2008, 09:24 PM SPeaking of NASCAR - I Laughed when I read RYAN's car was TOO TALL - and I'm sure he's going to get at least a $50,000 fine for having a CRAPPIER car than needed.
abdule 04-07-2008, 10:01 PM :woohoo: IROC started it all :woohoo:
....but I think NASCAR needs to get out of the engineering business and give the tuning back to the crew chiefs. Let THEM decide what front shocks to run and get rid of those stupid bump stops.
The shocks are probably the most sophisticated, tunable part of the car,
They have guys that do nothing but work on shocks. Nothing else.
There are so many variables, it's unlikely that any two teams are running
exactly the same shock package..
and NASCAR does not tell you what kind to run..
(except on plate tracks)
The bump stops came about from the teams, not NASCAR...
They were actually at one time not allowed.
And.. they are probably the biggest culprit when it comes to tire problems...
If the cars were as equal as a lot of people think they are, because of
the restrictive rules, there would be more different winners than there are..
McLin 04-08-2008, 07:41 AM What ever it is, it's screwed up and the racing is boring, for me anyway.
RCDawg83 04-08-2008, 07:47 AM I would rather see more dirt races on tv much better races and less wining.
I second that. World of Outlaws just cut a deal with Speed Channel to broadcast a bunch of races. I know, Speed Channel costs a few bucks, but worth it. You CAN buy it a la carte in most cases.
Even better, go to your local track and support local racers (when your'e not racing yourself) :woohoo:
Admission is usually 10-15 bucks at quarter mile tracks and 20-25 at half mile tracks.
JH Racing 04-08-2008, 07:50 PM Speed needs to show more Sprint Car, Late Models, And The Dirt Series for The Notheast. And George I not Mad all the time just sometimes.
Firecracker 04-09-2008, 08:24 PM As much as I enjoyed NASCAR as a child in the 70's - 80's the sport (CUP) has become crap. I truly believe even with the COT the racing could be exciting if they reverted back to some old guidelines, such as; 300 to 350 mile races this will eliminate "get in line and ride for an 1 1/2" they wouldn't have time they'll have to constantly jocky for position.Change the top 35 owner points car from automaticlly being in a race, I remember everyone had to qualify for a race if you weren't in the top 42 in time you loaded up and went home regardless who you were. That's why qualifing day was packed at the track. And cut the season to 30 races. I love to watch the trucks run, because they race the whole 90 min to 120 min, no time to sit back. I have became a strong supporter of the NHRA, because if you dont qualify in the top 16 you go home and you get to see numerous races in a single day, makes it more exciting that way. Just my thoughts. Take Care.

So how does that make the "race" better?
If Gordon and Stewart blow a tire in qualifying, and go home,
and Mike Skinner and Morgan Shepherd get in, how is that a better show?
IndyRC_Racer 04-10-2008, 11:28 AM NASCAR qualifying won't change and for a lot of good reasons shouldn't.
I would like to see shorter races and fewer events each year. Why do we need to see multiple races at the same tracks each year. Why do the races need to be so long. I'd much rather they split up some of the long races into multiple 25-50 lap shoot-out races (or what ever would make sense at the track) instead of watching follow-the-leader for 2 hours.
If NASCAR is all about sponsors and entertainment, then they should be concerned that the product they are putting out there right now is more than likely to put 1/2 the television audience to sleep (or change the channel).

MONEY!!
If NASCAR shortened the race lengths to shoot-out style events...less people would pack the stands. They could simply watch the race on TV for an hour and a half and then get back to mowing the lawn and painting the house....instead of making a weekend out of it - and spending lots of $$$$.
IndyRC_Racer 04-10-2008, 12:01 PM I understand the all mighty dollar is driving NASCAR and I applaud their efforts for building it into what it is today. But instead of having 1 long race for 4-5 hours on a single day, why not multiple shorter races on the same day with short breaks in between them and then have a shorter main event.
Wait a second, I think I'm talking about r/c racing....hmm....that seems to work for us doesn't it. :P
McLin 04-10-2008, 01:20 PM Yep. I've been saying that for years....3 heats and a Main......that would work for me.
No more top 35 needed with that system either. And no more watching cars get in line and go around in circles until the last 50 laps. Hey NASCAR, just in case you haven't notice THAT'S BOOOOOORING.
swtour 04-10-2008, 01:25 PM When I was younger, I always felt RIPPED OFF by the NASCAR Races on the West Coast.
Instead of 500 mile races, we got 500K races. Oh....if you call it a 500 - nobody will notice - but WE did!~
If I'm going to pay ALL THAT money to go to a race - it better be FULL LENGTH.
That being said - I do think there is a market for SHORTER RACING on T.V. - - - Maybe we shouldn't have LIVE NASCAR races - maybe they SHOULD be tape delayed and WELL Edited.

The fact is, there are various types of racing programs out there,
all with their own particular attraction.
They can't all be the same... they can't all be dirt, they can't all be
1/4 mile drags, nor can they all be 200 mile Indy car rocket races...
IF one particular flavor does not suit your interest, there has to be
another that does...
Each fan chooses his particular flavor...
I don't see the need to have shorter "cup" races, when you can go to
a "nationwide" race, for example...
If you like shorter stock car races... there you go...
Same track, most of the same top drivers, same atmosphere.
Want shorter ones?
Go to a truck race...
Shorter yet?
Go to a local track.. 50 lap features on 1/2 mile tracks..
20 minutes.. all done.
The cup audience, the largest of all of them, CHOOSE to go, and CHOOSE
to spend hundreds of dollars at an event, and many indeed make a
vacation out of it, looking forward to it every year..
You don't have to make plans a year in advance to go to Podunk Speedway..
They also CHOOSE to watch on tv, more than any other sport beside
football...
If sprint car racing was as popular with the masses, then you'd be watching
sprint cars on Sunday afternoons, instead of NASCAR....
Eastcider 04-11-2008, 09:18 AM Well put Dan i say if u dont want to watch it dont watch it .. and if its a boring race of follow the lead a little nap here an thier doesnt hurt :) i know i have done it .... but woke up an was still watching it ..

RCDawg83 04-13-2008, 10:25 PM .... but woke up an was still watching it ..
I think somebody could make millions with a service that sends you a wake-up call when there's 30 laps left :p
JH Racing 04-17-2008, 12:21 AM Well if you want to see some real racing go to Charlotte this weekend on the 18th and 19th they have the Colassol 100 Late Model race they will be all over the track 2,3, and 4 wide racing all weekened long. NO FOLLOW THE LEADER THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
