Check in the Brushless Oval Racing threads on Hobbytalk. There should be some links for replacement plates for the heatsinks. Some are just milled with flutes others have logos like BRL.

i had mine off for at least a year , just uncovered. if you are racing indoors, its not gonna hurt anything. its still sealed under there.
