Has anyone been having issues with Jaco wheels not running true? I've had 3 sets in a row now that wobble worse than a chickens neck once bolted on. Just wondering if I'm the only one...

The new rim has fixed this as far as I know ... Does the wheel press onto the truer If so It should come out perfect everytime ... We cut 15 sets each in Fla nad had no issues with the new rim ... very strong and also very true ....Please send me a PM if you like and I will answer ASAP

Have had the same problem with Jaco fronts. Some are OK, but some are terrible! They are the newer style wheels. I usually run BSR's, but like the Jaco purple compound for the RF on our type track. The quality control of BSR is much better.

This has been 3 sets in a row. I planned on running a new car tomorrow but the rears are junk, the fronts are better but not by much.

Mine have only been with fronts. Rears have all been fine. Got a full 2 sets of gray/white/blacks and they're all good. Just that one set of purple fronts was junk for some reason.

...I never had a wobble problem...my problem is if you BREATHE on the wheels...they simply SHATTER. In the old days - the tire would chunk - NOT these - the tire stays intact..and the wheels shatter into little pieces.

Jack had said "Try soaking them in water" Did that last week - shattered 2 wheels on the first practice run.

NOTE: Since these don't have "date codes" on the package - I don't know how many batches OLD they are. They were N.I.P. tires/wheels, but stuff I've had (LIKE MOST OF MY STUFF) for a couple years. I usually try to buy in BULK when I buy - and this bulk buy wasted a LOT of my money....and I've been afraid to use the last few sets.

That may be my problem too, I bought all of these a month ago but have no clue if they are the old or new style. I really hate to go spend more money and get the same result. Maybe I'll take a shot at another brand and see what happens.

That's why I run RC4Less orange rim foam tires!

The new wheel came out at the Snowbirds 2007.

I know the ones I have are older than this...

The wheels that give me a problem are a SHINNY black 'plastic looking' wheel (Unlike their OLDER wheel that looked like NYLON...that NEVER broke, but had a little flex.)

I still have JACO Caps for the VELODROMES that are well over 10 years old...that NEVER had a problem with breaking wheels....and THEY have been punished.

ok, chances are I have the old wheels then because they were bought about a week after Birds and chances are the LHS didn't get new stock within that timeframe. Is there any way to tell the difference between the new and old?

The newer fronts don't have the ridge inside no more, and the rears will fit Tight on the hubs, where the old one's where loose

The new wheel came out at the Snowbirds 2007.

So they have been out over a year. I assume most of what is circulating out there should be the new wheel then?

07... some how It went in my head as 08.

Oh well, thought maybe there was a chance to get some decent ones. Funny thing is I was looking at someone elses car with TM's on it and his were worse than mine.

How are the BSR and RC4Less Wheels?

Contact JACO and see if they will replace the wheel. I thought their products had some type of guarantee with them.

Goodluck with that idea. I gave up on my Jaco issues years ago. BSR has been more consistant for me so far. BSR has more choices with mixed compounds for that just right feel for the RF and RR. TM also has double or triple compound tires too.

BSR team purple or TM purple is like the Jaco purple for reference.
