Honestly if you want to race at all you are better to find a used car someone is selling . used losi 8 buggies are goin for about 250 -300 .. then save for the servos and motor unless you have them . If you are set on the 2 buggies listed i would suggest the xt2 as it has better equipment on it and got better reviews in the latest RC magazine for their cheap RTRs badassrevo 03-26-2008, 08:12 AM Get what ever your local hobby shop has more parts for. I ran OFNA,now I run Losi.I use to run Associated for Years. So I am not Biased. basketcase45 03-26-2008, 09:16 AM of those 2 i would keep the money and look for a used roller from ebay or on the boards in the for sale section ... I agree. If you are going to race and want to be competitive, you, at least, want a chassis that is raceworthy. Losi and Associated would be excellent choices, particularly because parts are readily available, partly because both these companies have put a lot of time and effort into engineering and testing. 420 Tech R/C 03-26-2008, 09:31 AM man with R/C items in general you get what you pay for. That is even more true with nitro 1/8 scale. With the 2 RTR's you are asking about the start up price looks good, but the long term cost is going to hurt!Cheap servos dont live long in 1/8 buggies, so I can see the first real expense being a good metal gear servo for steering.Plus neither buggy has a very solid drivetrain,so I can see the next expense to be replacing diff gears and cups, and driveshafts. You really would be better off getting a good solid losi, associated, jammin,or mugen roller of ebay or one of the boards. honda_stuntboy 03-26-2008, 01:57 PM I would suggest going 1/10 scale if you want to race on a lower budget. I know its not what you want to hear, but 1/8 scale is expensive and it doesn't get cheaper. Tires wear out quick, fuel costs are almost doubled if not, and the initial cost is probably triple that of 1/10th scale, and the pull start will eventually break. Everyone doesn't want you to waste your money fixing or get dissappointed w/ the lower grade 1/8 scale. $300 can go quite a way w/ a 1/10th truck. Just my 2 cents, I ran a GT2 all last year and moved up to an RC8 this year. Gave me a year to save up and I sold off all my 1/10th after the year was up to add to my 1/8th. Good luck w/ whatever decision you make. Terry. If your a Tax payer you should get your government check in May...... JMPN02 03-26-2008, 08:53 PM There is a guy here in ashtabula that runs an inferno readyset and all he did was put a good steering servo in it and he is competitive. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
