I'm pretty excited. I picked up a new track kit today. As a present to my step-son for behaving at the wedding. I picked up a Life-like kit. Its the one with the Honda Drift cars. I haven't set it up yet, I'm waiting for my step-son to get home so we can play with it. But this is the first new track set since I replaced my TCR/CC track set with the Tyco Sparkin' Hot Rods set.

Surely your step-son is home by now! :)

Let's hear the details of how the racing went!

The cars are quick. The track is nicer than my Tyco track and it came with banked corners which I found pretty cool.

There are however, a few things about it I just don't care for. The controllers for one, are hardwired into the track. Which means that you can't change them out or unplug the one you aren't using if you are running solo. The other fripe is the wall wart. Its 17 volts and is barely enough to run the two cars that came with the track. If you run one car then key-up the second the first car all but stops moving. Luckily for me, the plug is the same as my 20.6 volt Tyco wall wart so, needless to say I've been using that.

The track itself has some slight issues as well. My other cars, Tyco's and TOmy's don't like it. They hang up on it and seem to be a bit slower on it. My AW cars however seem to like the Lifelike track.

My step-son seems to like it more than me though, mainly because its got loops and track that runs over track. I still prefer my Tyco track.

I believe that we spoke before and live within about 10 minutes of each other.

Im in the final stages of FINALLY completing(only took 3 years)16X4 Tomy four laner.

When she's done,in another week or two tops,if you like I'll have you over to run some hot laps.

Yeah, you live in Port Jervis right? I wish I had the room to build my own tub. I just keep picking up different 2 lane tracks and set them up on my living room floor.

No,I am in Warwick, right on the NJ border.

Im thinking about putting a call out to see if there are any guys in our area that might be interested in getting together every other Monday night.

I know that there are guys within a half hour or so that have tracks.

Its still in the thinking stage about possibly forming a club of some sort. The emphasis will be on fun, with extremely simple rules as far as racing is concerned.

Im all about SG+ and G3 cars.Hard body racing more then likely.

Like I said, still thinking, but I want to keep it as simple as possible so anyone from a total newbie or an old timer can have some fun for cheap.

Stay tuned.

I'm in for a NE NJ/NY club. I'm in Vernon, about 15 minutes from Warwick.
